Wow, it's been too long.....
Apr 18, 2010
A long time once again since I have posted anything! It's now April of 2010 and in June this year, I will hit my 8 year anniversary!! Still rocking between 135-140 lbs. Doing taekwondo 3 x per week and running 4 times per week. I've done 2 marathons in the past year and a half and many other races. I have two half marathons coming up in the next 4 weeks. I so love running! Even did it when I was heavy, but it's obviously much easier now LOL. I wish everyone else continued success as I have seen. I don't post very often because "weight loss" and "diet" are no longer even things that I am consciously thinking about! Never went back to eating badly or eating too much. I still have a fairly small capacity to eat and still need to stay away from certain things. The only time I even have to think carefully about eating is when I am in marathon-training mode. It's just a little bit harder to get ENOUGH food in when you're running 40-50 miles per week, some runs going up to 20 miles :)
Once again, I will say........8 years later and I still fully believe that WLS was the right choice for me!!! I hope I can at least try to post more often in hopes of giving others support!
Blessings to everyone!

UPDATE on 6 year anniversary!
Jun 13, 2008
Wow, I can't believe it's been almost two years since my last update. Sorry all!
Today is my 6 year anniversary from WLS. Best decision I ever made in my life!!! It's constant "work" to keep the weight off, but definately worth it and it's more a lifestyle. I run 35 miles a week and am training for a marathon. I also do tae kwon do 3-4 days per week. It feels so good! Even when I was heavy, I was an athlete, but didn't ever "look the part." Now, when I tell people I am a runner, they don't doubt it!
As my profile says, I had a tummy tuck in 2004. And this past year, I bought myself a boob job for my 30th birthday :) Turned out to be the most painful of all my surgeries (much to my surprise), but definately worth it!
If I can give any advice, the bottom line is that WLS works and can be a long term solution, but you have to continue to work at it to keep it off and not return to old habits. i have never eaten more than I am supposed to, and on occassion if I do, I still will need to throw up because my stomach has never stretched out. I am so used to eating like this now, that it doesn't ever feel strange or that I am not satisfied. Waiters still look at me funny since I only eat a small portion of my plate at restaurants, but I'm over that, too!
Well, got to run for now, but I wish everyone the best of luck!
