Journey
Oct 17, 2006
This has and continues to be an interesting journey. I have had more emotions and dealt with more things that I never knew about myself than I ever would have had I not had this surgery. I am about 8 1/2 months out from RNY surgery and have lost 123 lb.s to date. This has been one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. I think that in order to continue to be successful, this will be a lot of hard work and commitment. I have to do this for me and my family. My health is great. I have gone from uncontrolled high blood pressure ( on 3 meds) to great blood pressure with no meds, I was borderline diabetic, that is now normal. I had high cholesterol and that is now GREAT (138). I struggle with low potassium and iron but have it under control as long as I stay faithful with my vitamins. I also am struggling with low protien counts, but am working on that. All in all, I wouldn't trade this journey for any other road I could have taken.
