2 Months Post-Op

We see photos of ourselves and others comment that they see "drastic" changes, yet why is it that we don't see what the camera and others eyes see in us? I guess the measurements don't lie. Will post them plus new current photos over the weekend. I am feeling great. No problems with constipation, obstruction or vomiting. I am taking my vitamins daily and getting most of my water, if not all in every day. I have increased my walking and have averaged about 3-4 lbs per week in weight loss. I no longer take oral insulin or high blood pressure medication. (They were discontinued with hospital discharge right after surgery)
That alone makes me VERY happy! My hubby & I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in August and I want to wear a beautiful cocktail dress with heels when we go out to dinner. I believe that will happen and its amazing how the mind thinks so differently since WLS. Normally I think of a vacation as sitting around like a big slug, munching all day. Now I am scouting out vacations spots that have pools & bikes, close walk to the beach...in other words ACTIVE stuff...Did I have brain surgery along with my RNY?

Beginning the Journey
Jul 10, 2007
I am very new at the start line here. I have the referral from my general MD and the Letter of Medical neccessity for my insurance company. I am scheduled for the mandatory seminar on July 26th. I can't schedule anything else until then.
Patience is not one of my virtues.
Like all of us, once I have made the decision I want it done! Ha Ha

I've come a long way now since this last post:
I've completed all my tests and MD appointments, approved by the insurance company for my RNY which is in 3 days on 11-13-07
I have lost 26 lbs on Medifast the past 5 weeks and a total of 34 lbs since 7-2-07. The journey continues.
11-13-07 - My NEW Birthday! RNY performed at weight of 252 lbs. I was scared and excited at the same time. Hospital stay was only 2 nights. My post-op pain was managed very nicely. After 1 week on clear liquids, I graduated to finely minced chicken, turkey or fish, cottage cheese, scrambled egg, oatmeal or Cream of Wheat, and vegetable soups. No breads, rice or pastas, no beef or sugar. The food plan is fine. I feel no cravings and I'm satisfied with 4-5 oz per meal now.
1 month post op- Down 23 more lbs! Yipppeeeeeeeeeeee
