Hello everyone. I am not sure where on my page this will be placed...lol. I have not figured out how to post on here. Ihope this works. I guess if you can read it, then I figured it out!
I am a 30y/o mother of 2 pre teen children. Like most people around here, I have been over weight all my life. I have just accepted it untill the past few years. I realized that my children were getting picked on because of my weight. Thats when I decided that all the diets which I have done, did not do enough. I have lost weight, but then put it back on plus more.
The most recent weight I have gained was over a 6 month period after a knee surgery. I was off work and off my feet for a long time. I just packed the weight on. It has taken a toll on me. I now have Diabetes, "female" problems, shortness of breath, and anxiety that you wouldnt believe. I feel so uncomfortable around new people.
I have just started receiving Great Lakes Health Plan and I have reserched this health plan on this site and it looks like its one of the better medicaids that pay for this surgery. I just hope that I can get this done with out a whole lot of headaches.

04/27/04- I am headed off to see my PCP. I am going in for a re check on my diabetes and to get my lab reults. I am going to give her a few papers that I have printed out from the internet about the Bariatric Surgery. I hope I will get the support I need from Her. WISH ME LUCK!!!
12/15/08- Holy crud.. look at all the years gone bye since i was on here. I am married now and both of us are going through the surgery now. His surgery is in Jan. 2009. I will only be 2 months behind him.
02/23/09- I am having surgery on April Fools day... go figure..lol. My husband had the surgery also in Jan. He is doing great, already 60# down. I am so proud of him. I know with both of us going through the surgery, we will each others best support.
03/25/09- One week away from surgery. I cant wait!!! Doing the pre-surgical diet, no problems this time.... I did the pre-surgical diet with my husband just before his surgery. My family and friends are getting little things for me for after surgery, I LOVE ALL OF THEM!!! I have had to remove a few "haters" from my life. They were so aginst me having this surgery. A few I belive was just out of jelosy. I dont need them and their negative attitudes around me.
My husband has lost 75# now. I am so proud of him!
04/04/09- Here i am 3 days post op. I only spent 1 night in the hospital. It was hard to sleep there, I think its hard for anyone to sleep in a hospital..lol. The staff at St. John were awsome. The day after surgery I had to go down for the "drink test" X-ray. EEEWWWW that stuff was yuckie. I got home and the doggies wanted to be right next to me, but i gave them a little pat and off to bed i went. I did go back to the gym for the first time since surgery. I did 30 minutes on the tredmill... VERY slow speed. My JP drain is getting clearer and less everyday. I stepped on the scales.... omg I should not have done that...lol. I have so much IV fluid weight gain right now. Its comming off too but it was crazy to see the big numbers.
06/25/2010- Holy Crud I havent been on here in FOREVER! I have had alot of admissions into the hospital due to an Ulcer that developed in the stomach where they reattached everything. Its something that happens to very few people and unfortunently I got to be one of the few..lol. I have lost around 110 pounds. I got down to 140 pounds but then gained 20 back when I was sick this last time. I have lost 10 of it. I am back to 150 pounds. I want to be at 130 but I will be happy if i can get back to 140. I am a gym addict. I usually go 3 times a day everyday of the week. weekends i usually get in 2 times a day. Wow I forgot to mention I am a grandma now too. My granddaughter Angel was born in Feb 2010. My husbands surgery went perfect and he has lost about 115 pounds. My friend Steve had the same surgery done and has lost 150 pounds so far and he is only 8months out from surgery. My bff MELISSA is hoping to have surgery done too. I LOVE YOU MELISSA!!!! I wish you the best of luck! I know you will do great too!!!
