As you already know any surgery is a risk. It's alright to be concerned about it. but do your best to THINK POSITIVE. and try not to focus on the negitive. I think most people had very serious health problems going in. Not all but most. I had open, and no serious complications, I had heard of others misfortunes but I do believe everyone of us has our own stories to tell. and God is in charge of everything. If it's our time to go. It don't take wls to do it. If our # is up then no matter where we are at. we got to go. so don't worry about things we can't do noting about. Just have faith and continue to live on this beautiful earth until our name is called. hang in there and try to stay focused. take care~*~Hugs~*~

Sheilia, my doc told me right off that ANY surgery is risky. The average death rate is 1 in 200. But you must think of the risks to your health if you are MO and don't have surgery. My dad died at 34 yrs of age from heart disease. THere is also diabetes on both sides of my family etc. I hope to get healthy and stay healthy (I do NOT have any of these health problems and had my surgery in hopes to prevent them). I felt I was headed for them and I was aching and paining all over from hauling this fat around. I am 34 and tired of feeling 94. Hope this helps some. God bless. Jamie

SHEILA ~~ Just remember that there are complications and risks in any surgery~ I know someone who died after they had their tonsils removed.... IT'S NORMAL TO BE SCARED~~ and you certainly must know the risks before you go into this. So just keep putting one foot in front of the other and taking your life day by day. There's a brighter tomorrow that's just down the road. Don't look back.... you're not going that way!

Sheila please don't give up, we all have days like that. I'm still pre op and have had days like the one you had yesterday. but let me tell you what you already know. Life is worth fighting for.YOUR LIFE IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR.DON'T GIVE UP HANG IN THERE. I JUST KNOW THAT WHAT WE ARE BOTH FIGHTING FOR IS WORTH IT.

I think I can speak for many many people on this site when I say...we have all been there. Waiting is terrible isn't it. I personally am not a wait type person. I hear keeping yourself busy on other things is the answer....lol. That is a laugh. All I can think of is this surgery and how nice it will be to have a handle on this weight problem. So see you're not alone. Just don't give up or the weight will win again just as it always has. God Bless on your journey.
