"Dr. Torquati was fantastic. He's with Duke now here in NC and no longer in TN. He's Italian, so for me that was nice bonus, but not the main reason I think he's wonderful. rnrnDr. T was very thorough, answered every little question I had and was the nicest surgeon I have ever dealt with. Another HUGE plus with Dr. T, is that he has never lost a patient.rnrnHis administrative assistant, Nancy, is the best! However I have to say the office staff for the Weight Loss Clinic - not so good (at the time). I did have a struggle with paperwork and test results getting lost as well as a lack of return phone calls when needed.rnrnAlthough Dr. T is my surgeon, it is the whole TEAM at the Duke Center for Weight Loss that really makes it a great place. rnrnGreat surgeons, dedicated dietitians, staff psychologists, top notch nurse practitioners and medical assistants.rnrnI went into surgery with NO DOUBT about how the surgery would be performed, what my aftercare would be, what I would be eating when and how I needed to eat for how long. I knew what I could do and not do, what medications I would be taking, what meds I would be getting for pain and nausea and I was told emphatically the horrible side effects of smoking as well as taking nsaids after surgery. (I don't smoke by the way). rnrnI was given a detailed packet on where to go before surgery for tests, check in, etc. Where I needed to go the day of surgery, what to bring.... It was like a laundry list. I really didn't have to think, I only had to follow the instructions I was given. That completely put me at ease. rnrnAny time I had a question all I had to do was call the dietitian, NP, or hospital liaison. The worst part was the paperwork and getting everything scheduled. rnrnI must say they have recently gotten a whole new setup for office staff, scheduling appts, and even a new office location that is bigger, better, and mostly dedicated to the Weight Loss Center and patients.rnrnI'm sure going forward it will be a much easier time for new patients having surgery done through Duke.rnrn"
