went back to surgery to close me up. My muscles are still too tight to pull me together, but they graphed skin across the opening. 80% took...I have lost 186 pounds since July. Would I do this again? Yes!!!! Hopefully we just have one surgery to go.

returned to hospital to have a reversal of my colostomy. Surgery went well...old mesh was removed and gortex was put in. All was going well..went home...then about 2-3 weeks later, my incision began to open again. I was put back in the hospital around the 24th of February. On March 10th, I had 103.5 temp. At 9:00 that evening I was in surgery again due to an abcess behind the gortex. Everything went well...even had a plastic surgeon present. They cleaned the infection up and dressed the wound.

First week in October. I am going home. I have a temporary colostomy and will have surgery in January or February. I have lost 114 pounds since July 1.

Still have the colostomy....will see the colon specialist on the 22nd. Will set up surgery at that time. I weighed last Sunday and have lost 141 pounds now. This is just a minor set back...I would do it again...for those who are asking. Will write more after the doctor visit.

I woke up at 3:00a.m....told my wife to help me up that I was having trouble breathing. She helped me up and then I started to throw up. Told her something was wrong and turned on the light. Was throwing up blood. An hour later, I had blood in my stool. Immediately was taken to the hospital and admitted. I had an ulcer in my new pouch. While I was there, they put my on a wound vac to help heal my incision. I stayed there and then was put in rehab to continue treatment. After about three weeks in rehab...I developed a hole in my colon...was admitted back to the hospital.

So far everything is still going well. I had a couple of bad days, but am doing better now. Will return to see the doctor on July 31. They will probably remove the JP tubes...I don't know about the staples. It is great to be on the second part of the diet. The only thing I have trouble with so far is the taste of the protein supplement I have to take.

Went to have my staples removed. The nurse was going over the new diet with my wife, when I looked down and told them I was coming apart. This seems to be no big deal...the doctor also opened a spot that needed to be drained. They bandaged me and sent me home. Several hours later, I was sitting in my recliner and the incision ruptured. I went from having home health see me, to going to the local ER and then returning and having surgery again. Just returned home on the 22nd. SO FAR, and hopefully will remain....everything is fine. Enjoying the second stage to the new way of eating. I cannot say enough wonderful things about my doctor or the hospital...they are great.

Well tomorrow I see the Dr. My incision has bled some, but the drainage around the G-tube is better. I had horrible heartburn and stomach gas the last couple of days. The first two doses of medication was put in the G-tube, and today I took it orally. Overall, except for feeling weak, was the best day that I have had yet.

Returned to the Dr.s office again... found out that the reason the G-tube is leaking was due to the balloon moved. Everything should be fine. They will take the rest of my staples out next week. (July 17th)

Returned to Dr.s office due to leakage around the G-tube and they said that everything looked fine. They opened my incision at the bottom and drained it. Put me on antibiotics and said to call if I had any other problems.
