My Journey so far..
Aug 27, 2010
Hi
just joined the site,so i thought id give some background info in my journey so far..
Had my 1st stage sleeve gastronomy on 28th November 2008, at the Homerton hospital in London,by Andrew Jenkinson.
Over the period from then til now i have lost approx 12 stone in weight,..168 pounds, and I am due to have my second stage {duodenal switch} this Tuesday {31st of August} at the Homerton again, but by Mr Mannur this time.
I waa a shade off 40 stones {550 pounds}at the very beginning, and currently weigh, im not exactly sure..lol, I was stage 2 diabetic taking 4 metaformin tablets a day, and 4 shots of insullin {3 fast acting with meals and 1 large shot of slow acting }
I am currently not taking any diabetic medication,but on my own volition,I should really check this out with my doc.
The surgery has made a massive difference to my life, I can walk now, much further then I did before,although I still have quite a lot of water retention, which I have to take fusemide tablets for, {i personally dont think their very good}
Im hoping the next stage will see me to the end of my journey along with any plastics i may need as i have a fair bit of redundant skin already.
I will update this as the surgery is completed and thanks for reading.
