What a month. My new date was scheduled for June 24th. I found out that my surgeon was moving to a teaching hospital, still in the NW Ohio area, but that teaching hospital has had a bad reputation most of it's years in business. They have been doing a better job in the last ten years but the former reputation bothered me. My father died at this same hospital in the early 80's but was due to a massive heart attack he had at home prior to getting to the hospital. Still, I could not bring myself to having the surgery at the teaching hospital. I just remember my father's lifeless body lying on the table. I will never forget that day.
March, 2008, pre op diet 1.

I was to have surgery the end of this month. I was two days away from surgery when I injured my leg leaving work one day. The Surgeon postponed the date till I had a chance to heal. I'm glad we waited because it was difficult enough getting in and out of bed at the hospital without your leg giving you trouble.
I lost about 27 lbs on the pre op liquid diet and did not find it that difficult to do. The biggest problem is finding flavors/brands of sugar free drinks and proteen drinks that taste fairly good. My favorite SF drinks were various Crystal Lite flavors and Fruit 2 O (fruit two oh) flavors. Love the Fruit 2 O peach as it tastes like you just bit into a real peach. I found that Atkins Advantage proteen drinks were my favorite. Slim fast was just too gritty for me.
