I am a 20-something girl who had gastric bypass on December 15, 2008. I guess the saying "nothing great is ever easy" is so true because this has been a rocky road so far. I wasn't heavy my whole life, I played sports up until the end of high school. After that, the weight pretty much piled on until I was just beyond help. I turned to the surgery after seeing my mom go through it in 2006.
