~*~(From my heart to yours)I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.(unknown author)~*~Hugs~*~

7/12/03 - Today I am at my 5 month mark since surgery! I'm down -85 pounds and am right at the 200 mark! I haven't been here for like 15 years. I can't tell you how great I feel. I struggled for months with my energy levels but they are really starting to improve now. I either walk or swim everyday, if I walk I walk 2 miles and then do resistance training and when I swim I'm up to a mile in about 50 minutes. It is so nice to add physical activity to my schedule. My children have all got on the bandwagon too, we have joined a club together and they really help to make sure that we all go! They even got their dad to go which is a miracle! :) I'm looking forward to the continued weight loss and my next goal of course is the century club. I hope it doesn't take too long to get there because I can't wait. I realized the other day I'm over half way to my goal now of 140. It is exciting to see it on the horizon. I haven't posted an updated picture yet but will after the weekend. We are attending a family reunion this weekend and I can't wait to see how everyone responds to the new me. I even got my hair cut and foiled and I think I just look so much healthier. I know this week at work again I ran into people who just thought I have changed so much, I have one woman who passed me and then emailed me later and asked "are you shrinking?" I had to laugh, yep as a matter of fact I am! Have a great day! Cindy N

04/03/03 - I am 7 weeks post op now. Down 48 pounds. It's been quite a little trip for sure. First I didn't get to have lap, had to be open because my liver was too large and in the wrong place. So I was in the hospital a bit longer, longer recovery. Then 4-5 weeks out, I had fevers from the day of surgery but we couldn't figure out why...between 4-5 weeks I had a wound infection, scary. If you want details you can email me but to say the least I thought my stomach exploded. They had to open my incision back up in a place and clean it and get rid of the infection with antibiotics,etc...and since I have been taking care of an open wound that has to heal from the inside out. It hasn't been too much fun. I was on pureed for the first 4 weeks then graduated to regular food. I can't eat any sugar or I dump. At first I had problems with regular water would cause me to dump but my doctor gave me the idea of drinking something called Propel...What a lifesaver. I take Isotonix vitamins and they have been great, the easiest vitamins to ever take. I haven't lost hair and my fingernails are growing. I am starting to feel better now and am getting used to the diet restrictions. I think the trade off is worth it. I now have to go buy some new pants unless I want to continue to look like I'm wearing baggy clown pants..but what a great problem. I'll update again soon with some pictures.

2/15/03 - I'm still in the hospital, they were not able to do laparoscopic because my liver was too large. They did an open, I'm doing very well though, I'm eating a litte of what they are giving, I was so glad to get some liquid after 2 days. No leaks or anything. I'm so glad to be on the other side now. Can't wait to see results. I have been at the best hospital with the best docs and nurses, they have all gone the extra mile! Thanks for all your thoughts, prayers, posts.
