Day 19

Jul 04, 2010

Still really swollen in my belly. I took before measurements, and my waist is still about 3 inches bigger than it was before! My hips are are smaller, and my abdomin is smaller, but my waist is still huge! I really haven't seen a difference at all over these last three weeks. I am really starting to get frustrated.

My whole midsection is really tight, and I am starting to wonder if I am every going to stretch and have the swelling go down. I am SO tired of just lying around. I have been moving, don't get me wrong, but one outing a day. I have been cooking, cleaning, do laundry, etc, but I am SO ready to get my normal life back. I am walking about 98% straight.

I went to go buy a bra yesterday because the sports bra is keeping me from wearing a lot of my tops. I am officially a 34 C. A full C too. I am pretty happy with that. The scar line is heaing wonderfully, and I am very thankful about that.

Day 16

Jul 01, 2010

I'm home! I'm finally lying on my couch, watching my tv, in my house! I am so excited! It's nice to be surrounded by the comfort of home and being back where I belong. On the drive home today, I took a vicadine just to reduce the pain. It helped quite a bit. I didn't feel any pain, but I was a bit nauseous. We stopped once for a bit of food, and that really helped.

My appointment at the dr.'s office yesterday was really good. Dr. Lo was really pleased with the way I was healing. We removed some of the glue that was ready to me removed, and I saw the incision line for the first time. I was AMAZED! The line is pencil thin! I thought that the thick blood line was the cut, but it turns out that it was just dried blood and purple marker! :) PURPLE! Hee hee! The scar is going to be nothing!!

After removing the glue, I had a little bit of weeping on the incision that needs to be kept clean.  He looked at my breasts and feels that the left breast is really going to drop on its own. We are now taping the breast up (to help gravity do its job). They took a picture, so we can compare it to next time.

The bump on my left hip might need some minor work on it. He said just a little nip and tuck in the office. He said that I have the best shape that he has seen in a long time! :) Infact, two of the office staff came in to look at me... they were impressed. One is getting her surgery done in a few months, and she wanted to see my incision. I go back in three weeks.

I just weighed myself, and honestly, after reading other people's posts, I thought I would be heavier, even though he removed fat  and swelling... but I actually I weigh 5 lbs less! I also tried on some more of my jeans, and they fit! I can't wait to try on more and more of my clothes! I just bought a new dress to wear at a wedding in October, and a blouse! I am taking it easy... still resting... dr''s orders!

Day 14

Jun 29, 2010

Fourteen days ago, I was lying on the OR table! Today, I am up, moving around, and happy. Don't get me wrong... I am still extremely swollen. I can't believe how swollen I am, but I am happy. I can see the flat wanting to come through!

When my fiance came and saw me for the first time two days ago, he was AMAZED! He couldn't believe the "new" me. Even today he was looking at the incision, and was amazed at how thin they are. My breasts are becoming less and less boxy. The right one is now curved at the bottom. The left still has a "wrinkle" in it, that I am sure will drop and become round. My F is really happy with the size and shape. He says they are smaller but perky! I joked with him saying that he got four for the price of 2!

I got the ok yesterday for an outing. We are still in Houston, so we went out to eat. I was (am) hunched over, but it was nice to get out from these four walls! I also had my first alcoholic drink in awhile! :) My F had to help me in and out of the car, and I was walking VERY slowly, but it was nice.

I am a little worried about the swelling. I mean, I am REALLY swollen. My thighs and breasts are pretty healed (or so I think) but my waist and tummy are puffy! My waist is actually larger (by about an inch) than it was before the surgery... I hope my dress looks good! Part of reason I bought it was to show off my curves... I just hope that I still have them!

Day 12

Jun 27, 2010

I am up and waiting for my sweetie to come take care of me for the last four days. I can't wait to get home! I can't wait to see him! Today I am feeling really good. I am standing about 97% straight. I still have a lot of swelling in my lower tummy. The tummy is swollen and warm to the touch. I think the swelling is causing me to be hunched over.

I am anxious to ask the dr. what my activity level can be after surgery. Do I have to lie around at home too, or can I get out and about (errands, shopping, etc)

I am able to get up and walk alot more easily. I have been doing some cleaning around the hotel and I can get in and out of the chairs and bed without help. I haven't seen any leakage from any of the incisions, but my right drain hole still bleed a little bit. It needs to heal up some more.

I am pretty pleased with the few amounts of problems that I have had so far... really only a yeast infection and the swelling from a few days ago. No infection or butterfly band aids for me.... When my mother met with the Dr. a few days ago, he told her he wanted to use my picture for his website.... that is too funny! My claim to fame!

I have been doing some web surfing on post-op sex... I read one website that said for a LBL you should wait 2-3 weeks. No tongue on the incision line. However, for breast lift, the breasts should not be manipulated for 4-5 weeks. That is definitely a question I am going to be asking the dr!

Day 10

Jun 25, 2010

I, and my vagina, are feeling much better today! (Thank the Lord!) I replaced my compression garment with spanx (dr's orders) and my vagina swelling has gone down quite a bit! Now my concern is a "pooching" of the right incision. It sticks out quite a bit. I don't think its a dog ear, just raised. I'm afraid it's right at my jean waist band, and jeans will hurt!

My mom went and met with the Dr. regarding another surgery for her, hello? finder's fee?  and mentioned that I was a little concerned about my left breast. The breast still looks REALLY boxy. I'm sure it will fall, but it just makes me a little nervous.

Overall, I am happy with my choice. I took off my spanx to "air out" and I slid on a pair of medium pjs. Granted, I know they are pjs and are supposed to be loose, but I know alot of people who say they can't fit into their  pre-surgery clothes six weeks after surgery. I am going to have my fiance bring up a pair of my jeans when he comes to care for me, and I can see how they look.

I am walking more easily day after day... maybe tomorrow is the day I will walk straight!!

Swollen Vagina

Jun 24, 2010

Yes, I know it sounds gross... and it is. Due to the antibiotics after surgery, I got a yeast infection, so I took some monistate. Later that day, I felt and noticed that my labia minora was getting really red and swollen. I thought it was just the yeast infection, so I ignored it. This morning, however, I noticed that I was even more red and swollen, and now warm to the touch. The labia minora is so swollen, that it is peeking out through my vulva. I have contacted the Dr.'s office to see what they think.... haven't heard back yet.

Day 8

Jun 23, 2010

I went in today  for my first post-op appt. I had my drains removed! Yea! I feel like the chains have been broken... Lugging those things around and having them come unattached from my garment was painful! The tech said that all my incisions and breasts look great. She did an ultrasound of my breasts and tummy... no fluid, only swelling!

She said that my breast itching was normal... I'm healing, but can't do anything about it. Let nature take its course. I was told that I will be able to go to normal bras in about two to three weeks. What? I thought it would be longer than that... I am going to have to drop a ton of money on new bras.

Flat as a board is what I should be.... Everyday I'm getting closer and closer...

Day 6

Jun 21, 2010

Today is day six after my ps. I have a LBL and BL on June 15th. I am doing better everyday. Today I have been getting out the recliner and walking to the restroom on my own. I have been taking my binder off and on by myself as well. The pain level today... a 2 or 3. I'm uncomfortable, but not in pain. I am standing straighter and straighter everyday. That helps. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I looked at myself today, and see the possibility of a flat stomach!
