I had my surgery 1-30-06 at South San Francisco Kaiser in California.
My doctor states at least 2 weeks for light duty jobs. But heavy duty jobs or if you have any issues with the surgery they extend it. I'm at social workerr and activity director for a skilled nursing and after having my staples taking out yesterday i asked to have 6 weeks and no problem I got it. I just want ot make sure I will be able to eat solid food and have my energy level back before trying to go back and overdo it. But every case is different I would see how you feel. And communicate with your surgeon through out the healing process. Good luck.......Suzan Gabin
