Well, I was approved for lap band surgery in 1 day. I am very happy about that. I do wish time would go faster so I could already be on the losers bench. I have an appt for the GI Endoscopy on Jan 9 then a follow up appt with the surgeon on Jan 21 to schedule the surgery. I am hoping it will be done by the first of Feb as I am going on a cruise the end of March and I want to know how to work with the band before I go. I don't want to be on pureed foods on a cruise!! And I dont really even care if I have restriction at all when I go. I just want to be healed from the surgery and be able to eat real foods. The Carribean is a long way from Rochester if anything goes wrong!
I am glad to be on my way finally. I think this has been a long time coming. And I dont mean from the initial appt with the doctor. I mean in my life. I have been overweight for most of my life. Oh, I have lost weight before. Lots of it. I have even made it to become a lifetime member of Weight Watchers. Great program that really works, and its a good lifestyle. But as soon as I get one little bit away from the program, I start to gain. I have never had any luck with keeping the weight off.
Am hoping this time is different. I will always have that tool with me to help keep me in check and I really do believe that is what I need.
Will update the progress as it happens. And will post as soon as I get the surgery date!

Well, I have done all of the required appointments and am waiting for an appointment with Dr D so they can get the insurance ball rolling. I am hoping that after my Dec 4th appt with him, things will go really really fast. I would like to think I could have the surgrey the first of Jan. I am a little anxious. I just want it to be done. I dont like all the waiting around. Also, I have a trip to Barbados planned for the end of March and I dont want to have to worry about eating mushy foods while there!! Not cool!!! Not sure if anyone reads this but if so, welcome to my life!
