Feeling Fantastic. I am still having trouble with certain solid foods. I am having some issues with hair loss ( I guess I will buy a wig ). but feeling great.

 

I have finally made it to the 50 pound mark. Still not eating much in way of solid foods.
I was in the hospital last week for a couple days. though i have a stricture but everything was fine. I was dehydrated somewhat but they "hooked" me up and starting feeling better. I go back to Dr. Nease this month for a ckup.

Well, I went to the Dr. Office on Thursday 5/14/09 which was my 7 1/2 weeks ck up. I have lost a total of 42 pounds, 22% body fat and lost 11 points off my BMI.
I am feeling great with the exception of nausea and vomiting at times. Right now I seem to have a sinus infection. I have a sore throat and all the stuff that comes with sinus infections.
I will have to call the Dr. office on Monday if I am not feeling better.
Monday will be 8 weeks post op for me. I was looking forward to the Regular part of the diet but the N/V has put a limit on that. I still like to stay with what is safe.
I did order me some new protein sample packs this morning. I cannot wait to get them. NECTARS. The reviews are great, so when I get them and try them I will be sure to post the results.
The flavors were: Fuzzy Navel, Tropical Coolers and Banana. They are fruit drinks and are suppose to be great in taste...we will see.
I dont have to go back to the Dr. until September!!

Oh my gosh. I went to the Dr. today and I finally got the JP Drain out. What a difference it has made in how i feel. The icing on the cake was the -13 pounds as well. Another week of stage 2 and I am actually looking forward to moving to another stage of the diet. I go back in a month. I can already tell a big difference in my tops. I hope I can lose another 13 pounds in the coming week!! Yahoo....

Well I am now 6 days post op. I cannot wait until Tuesday March 31 to go back to the Dr. Office. I want this JP tube out. It is the most annoying part of this whole process and the most tender. I truly feel that once this tube comes out my soreness will start to ease up. The tube insertion area is really tender and sore.
Does anyone have stomach spasms? There are times that I can feel my stomach of something in there having spasms. It reminds me of a baby moving in your stomach if you are pregnant. I can be quite annoying.
I am also having hard time getting all my water in on a daily basis and if anyone out there has a schedule they go by or how you are getting your water in please let me know.
I use the WHEY protein drinks from walmart. I got the strawberry and chocolate and I mix the 1 scoop with 5 oz of water and blend really well and then place in the freezer. I get it to freeze to the consistency to where I have to eat with a spoon. I gives me the 20 min needed to consume the protein meal. 1 scoop gives you 28 g of protein with each serving. I am getting my minimum serving of protein in but until i get on a diff diet that gives me more options then I could possibly add more.
I can get the protein drinks down, takes me awhile but they are not that tasty.  I am not really hungry at this point,
I will update next week after going to Dr. to see what the first weeks results are.

It has truly been years in the waiting. I started this journey back in the spring of 2002 when I went to work for Cingular Wireless. My insurance at that time was United Health Care on their web site they supported the weight loss surgery if it was medically necessary. So I began the procedures and for a whole year worth of doctor visits, psych evals and nutritional couseling, I had done everything was needed to proceed. My paperwork was submitted to the insurance company and the company that I worked for: cingular wireless; denied the claim b/c in sept of 2003 they opted to have that benefit removed from our benefit package b/c too many people were having the surgery. (whatever). since it was excluded from our benefit package I was denied the procedure.
I quit cingular wireless (which by then was AT &T) in March of 2007 and went to work for a company PRC which was an outsourced company for Directv. They did not cover the procedure either; So in June 2007 Directv purchased their rights from the company (PRC) based in Huntington, WV and converted the call center to a Company Owned and Operated Call Center and guess what? They covered the surgery b/c Directv is a Health Oriented Company!!! So My insurance went into effect July 1 2007 with Aetna and I had my first Dr. Visit again in July and started the 6 month progress that Aetna required.
I finally got my surgery date w/o any complications from Aetna. They approved the request with the first letter.
My Blood sugar everymorning is 250 or greater. Even with Insulin I still cannot get my BS under 200.
I have pretty much emptied my cupboards to prepare for this surgery. I know this is going to be a life changing event and a change of lifestyle. I do not want this weight to come back on once I get it off so I am mentally prepared for this Fantastic Live Altering Change!!
I cannot wait until I can go to a department store without having to ask where is your Plus size Department.
