The stall that seemed forever...
Jul 09, 2009
I think my stall lasted for 2-3 weeks
. The funny thing, I was definitely loosing inches
. My pants are extremely TOO BIG! Of course my dress pants I wear for work are barely staying up and they do not have belt loops. I should be happy...but money is tight and I am not about to go shopping for clothes when I will not be in them for long. Sandy (we had the same doctor and have the same support meetings) was abosolutely great and she passed me 3 bags of shirts - 1 x...I am excited.
Thank you again Sandy!
Anyway, besides having a major stall, I got right in my head and reminded myself why I did the surgery. I joined www.myfittnesspal.com a free website where I can log my food and excercise. I set up a schedule for exercise and started to monitor my food more closely. I started fresh this week...
Monday - Friday: I go to the local YMCA
30 minutes of the elliptical - WOW, I could not even do 5 minutes prior to my surgery. Now, very easy and graceful!
30 minutes on the treadmill OR 30 minutes on the universal rower (sp?) machine
3 sets/15 reps on (3) universal machines - to work my mid-section, inner thighs, and hopefully prevent too much bat wing
Sometimes I walk in my neighborhood for a brisk walk, 30 minutes...this is time when I can catch up with my husband
because I work a lot and by the time I get home, he is cooking for the kids and I am catching up with everyone's day.
My protein usually is between 75 - 95
Calorie intake is between 650 & 950. I am not starving myself...thankfully, I can't eat anymore than I am eating. I try to make sure I do not snack throughout the day, just my 3 meals and 2 snacks...trying to push my liquids...
I have been very happy with my weight loss. Again, I wish the pound were coming off, but then again...my hot dog rolls have gone away from my neck, I don't look pregnant anymore, I can fit size 18 pants comfortably and I even was able to get into my "hoochie" size 16 jean shorts
. They fit like they did the last time I wore them 3 years ago
.
When I see my doctor for my 2 month visit, I WILL be down at least 10 more pounds...GUARANTEED!
My first goal I will publish later...to be 199 lbs. I am hoping for this by July 31st
. I will stay positive beause I am psyched and my mind is in the right place... I am not falling off the program (heck no!), I just need to figure out what I need to do when I hit a stall. It will happen and I cannot get discouraged. Keep it moving and it will be all okay

On May 18th I had my RNY. I started this process December 08. My husband was absolutely against this decision. Not happy at all. I went through all my appointments within two days, at the end of January. For most of the month of February, I tried to get my 5 year weight loss history. I stalled because I had not record 5 years back, but b/c I had quite a few for 6 year history, the doctor's office told me to fax them the history and they would submit to the insurance (BCBSNC).
In mid February, I had this excrutiating pain (same pain I had before) One of the owners I work for took me to urgent care because the pain was getting worse by minutes. What could get worse. Gall Bladder! As it turned out, my gall stone increased in size so large in less than a year, they needed to remove my gall bladder. I felt so much better after surgery.
It took insurance about 4 days to approve my surgery. I called to find out the cost, thankfully - $0. No deductible, no co-payment, nothing. I scheduled my appointment for surgery - May 18th, the first available.
I told my husband. He said, he did not agree with the surgery, but would support my decision. As he puts it, I do what I want to do...so true!
Today, May 25th, one week post surgery, have mixed feelings, but...I AM happy I made this decision. My entire family is very happy for me. My cousin also had RNY surgery - March 17th and this has been wonderful. Someone to talk with, ask advice, release my worries, happiness with. Definitely wonderful, someone who understands, what is better than having a family member that can relate to your journey!
