"I met Dr. Shina the first time at a weight loss seminar put on by him. He was very straight forward and spent a lot of time explaining the surgery, the complications, especially the possibility of blood clots.rnHe explained everything in detail and was VERY patient with questions from all of the attendees. I liked him from the very first and knew he would be a top surgeon and my surgeon! My impression has not changed and I am three months out. His office staff is first rate. They are very friendly and professional. The staff helped keep me on track for my insurance approval. I have been fortunate that I haven't needed to call for any questions but, I know they would be very happy to help in any way.rnDr Shina believes very much in aftercare programs. The hospital he uses is Norton Suburban and they have a wonderful support program with top notch professionals. One of the things you might not see at first is Dr Shina's sense of humor. He is a professional first but he does have a great sense of humor. Also, he will NEVER rush you.
