Goal #1 Fail? I think not.

Sep 03, 2010

Man. I was getting dressed this morning and noticed that my arms looked a lot better than they did a couple of weeks ago. I got on the scale, since it was Friday, and saw I was down 4 pounds from last week. Then things started getting kind of exciting. I dug through the closet and found some clothes I have not been able to wear for a while and tried them on. One shirt still did not fit, but this time it was because my biceps were too large, a condition I call a good problem. The second one was the dark blue shirt in the pictures I posted today. It's wonderful how progress breeds motivation, which breeds progress, and so on...

The gym has really been awesome for me. There is a group of regular guys who show up and generally taunt the hell out of each other. If you want to work out with them you don't necessarily have to lift huge amounts of weight (although it is a plus) but you do have to have heart. I've been 'hitting the iron' hard and making sure to eat plenty of protien when I get home. The protien also sticks with you longer so you don't suffer the hunger pangs like with simple carbs and sugary foods.

I'll end with

So far, so good!

Goal #1: FAIL.

Aug 29, 2010

All right...so my goal to get down to 250 pounds by September 1st looks like it will be a bust. I'm not concerned, though, because I've incorporated a heavy dose of weight-lifting into my daily exercise regimine and my waist size is dropping steadily. Also, my chest and shoulders, particularly the deltoids, are getting thicker. In short, the fat is still burning off and I am developing muscle mass. It doesn't matter if I weigh 300 pounds as long as I have a decent body-fat percentage!
I feel better than I did 2 months ago and I am down 30 pounds since June 15th. A friend also send me some pics of myself from a year ago when I was 315 pounds. Since it's now down to 260 (-55 LBS) I feel even more motivated.
