Hi,
My name is Mary Jane and my WL Journey began in 2005 when an angel disguised as a friend (retired RN cardiologist) approached me about my health. Thus the journey into the WL world began. I searched the internet, read everything I could. Watched the health channel and saw myself in so many others battling this war on obesity. The catalyst came for me Labor Day 2007 when my lower back went out and for three days I could not do anything for myself and I mean ANYTHING! In the Hershey ER I found out that I had three bulging disc in my lower lumbar section for which nothing could be done. Lose weight they said!!! If only they knew!!!. I called my friend and angel who gave me the phone number of someone she knew who had gone through this journey. Sandy was her name and she inspired me to take control of my battle. I spoke with my family first and then made an appointment with my family doctor. From there my first appointment with the Weight Loss Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in October 2007. My NEW LIFE was about to begin.
I must thank FLOUR Power. I met her in person at the WLC Support group in Harrisburg on Monday, November 10th, 2008. She mentioned this site and I said that yes I had joined back in October 2007 but never entered my own story. She gave me her username and shared her story. She inspired me to open my profile to the public and I am going to begin posting my journey with my pictures and thoughts. I had been documenting in my own personal journal and scrapbook and after speaking with Flour Power decided to join others in supporting our journey together.
I have the greatest support system with my family, friends, family doctor and all the people I work with not to mention all those at the WLS Clinic and now this web site. THANK YOU to all whose stories I have read this past year. I only hope and pray that my story will help others as much as yours as helped me!
