Having the LapBand done was the best decision I have made. I am diabetic, need a knee replacement, and have trouble walking. I chose water aerobics because I couldn't do heavy exercise. While my figures may not be as high as I would like I realize part of that is me not following directions. I go to it and then I side but I am getting better.
Since my surgery, I am walking better, can walk longer, and my sugars have been in control for 6 months. I am hoping I'll be able to discontinue some of my diabetic pills soon.
I had the less-invasive WLS on 09/08/05
I am 5months post-op LAPBAND
I had 2 saline adjustments, current level of 3.5 cc's
I had to lose 162 lbs. total
I have lost 51lbs. - 32% of my excess weight.
I am currently losing approximately 1 lb. a week, while eating normal foods. I still have problems eating too much causing PBing.
I have only 111 more lbs. to lose, to achieve a healthy weight.
I have a lot more energy
I am making mini-goals for myself. Wearing a 16 pant, m top. Currently I have dropped to a 20 pant and XL top. When i reach 90# I am going on a cruise to treat myself. When I reach goal, I'm going to Ireland.
Had no problems with surgery at all--just a little soreness. Was walking about 3 hours after surgery. Port pain for about a month but expected some of that.
