Good news re my check-in appointment with Dr. C.

Jul 30, 2012

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all doing well and staying on track this summer. I do not check in with my OH community nearly enough but thought you might like to see my latest posted photo from July 5th. Only 16 lbs to go. What a journey to get here! You all know what I mean. ; -)

If you are in the San Luis Obispo north county, please come to our support meeting on Thursday night at 6:00pm. We are having a clothing exchange. Lots of size 16 & 18 pants and tops.

Been a long time.................

Dec 28, 2011

Sorry that I have been awol for a time. I am currently celebrating my 100 lb loss @ 8 months post op. Yahoo! What a fantastic feeling. Last Christmas, I never would have dreamed that I would have been 100 lbs less the following Christmas. I even lost through the holiday celebrations. I love my sleeve!

Hope you all had  wonderful holiday celebrations with your families and loved ones. I sure did.

Finally.......................

Oct 14, 2011

I finally left the 90's. I have been stuck for 5 weeks with only 5 lb loss. Of course the excess carbs that I was consuming might have had something to do with the plateau. Anyway, finally busted 190. I am now 6 months out from my VSG with a total loss of 87 lbs. Slow but getting there.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Sorry that I have been "absent" for awhile. I will try to blog more and send some recipes.

While I was gone, I discovered an inexpensive meat that is an excellent source of protein. Ever tried roasted/baked turkey necks? Very tasty and satisfying. Had to special order them from our Albertson's store but they came in 4 days later. I bake with just salt and pepper for 2 to 2 1/2 hours at 325 degrees. Depends on how many necks you are roasting at once. Add seasonal veggies to the pan during the last hour.

Our group is meeting on Thursday night at 6:00pm upstairs at the Paso airport on October 20th. We meet every 1st and 3rd Thursday. Join us if you can.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Bad day at work today........give me some food.................

Aug 09, 2011

I had a really bad day at work and all I want to do is eat, eat, eat. So I came home and tried to stuff my face but my VSG and my nerves won't let me overeat. Yeah! I think. Anyway, I see that the sleeve is doing what it is supposed to do so I am thankful. Think I will get out my hand held Solitaire game and work off my anxiety that way.

What's there to eat?

Jul 29, 2011

Getting a little tired of the same 'ol. Only a few months out from VSG so still need to eat low carb and lots of protein. Getting tired of cottage cheese, yogurt, sickly sweet drinks, eggs, chicken, fish, shrimp. Would love to have a big chef's salad though. Hard to do that with only 3 oz allowed. ; -)

Okay, just whining a little. Actually, I am going to go and buy a pair of smaller size brown pants after work today. My wardrobe is getting as skinny as I am.

Low carb macaroni and cheese, anyone?
