I offically hate BCBS of AZ

I can't tell anyone enough how awful BCBS of AZ is. Unless you experience their call centers and employees you just can't understand. Every time I call it's a different answer. One person tells me one thing and then I call a day later and get a totally different answer. I read the surgery criteria- I am on month 4 of my 6 month diet. The thing I am mostly worried about is the 5 year histor of a BMI of 40+. I didn't gain alot of my weight until the last 3 years- but I can't seem to lose any of it. I do WW and I will lose 2 lbs- but then I will gain a lb back the next week. UGH!.
At least one good thing- only two more months before I can really apply with BCBS. I read on the insurance forums that you can still apply for approval before your diet is done and get approval saying you can have the surgery after you complete the diet. I dont know if that is true- I am just going to wait though. I need the time to get all my records together anyways.
Well, wish me luck. Congrats to anyone who has gotten approved this month. I am incredibly happy for you. My mama just had her surgery about 6 weeks ago. She is down 52 lbs forever. Good for you mama.

Met with PCP. Consult on the 21st

Well, I went to see my PCP- finally got in. I was surpised at how supportive she was. I thought she would tell me that I was not heavy enough (my BMI is 42) or that I wasn't a good candidate because of something. She quickly agreed to write my letter for me. I know my insurance covers this procedure as long as I can prove necessity so now I am trying to find all my medical records. I wonder if anyone else has had the same problems as I have- I have not really ever had a regular PCP. I job hopped a lot when I was younger- meaning I insurance hopped- and always was seeing different dr's. It's hard to find everything they want.
I found out that my psych consult is not covered by my insurance. That really sucks because it is expensive! They said it's going to be like $500 for that visit. UGH. I don't like that.
Well I am so excited for my consult appointment. I know it's not much- but I am on the path!
