I have lost 130 Lbs in 7 months and 2 weeks.
I was a fan of junk food (fries, candies, ice cream, etc.). I was the kind of person who could do any diet and lose weight, but eventually I regained the same weight and more. It is hard to participate in many activities when you weight 286 pounds.
Prejudice is everywhere, including family members who say that they love you, but still hurt you with negative comments.
The surgery had an effect on me because of my eating habits have changed. It is also been a good change in my relationship. One has the same needs and desires, but at 286 lbs one does not have the same level of energy. At 156 lbs, I definitely have a lot more energy.
At the beginning, I told myself many times that I did not need the surgery. I thought that those that did not have the motivation to loose weight were destined to be obese. Now, I know that I was wrong, that some people need an extra tool to accomplish the goal.
I found out about the Gastric By Pass on the Internet, support groups and friends. I researched all the pros and cons, benefits and risks of the surgery. This type of surgery has little complications when compared with other types of surgery showed on TV or the internet.
When I started calling places to ask about the surgery, I found out about Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. They answered all my questions. They worked hard with this cause.
I did not have any side effects like hair loss or aching bones, even with the anesthesia. You can get answers to any question you have, even if you call the office and ask to speak to the doctor. The team of doctors is very professional and always call back when I request a call back or leave a message.
My stomach and my body have changed in a good way. Once the surgery was completed, I started to go out and share more with friends and family. I have lost a pants size approximately every two weeks. I know some people are afraid because it is a major surgery.
If you do your research and find a good doctor, you will avoid any complications. This surgery will make you feel the way you always wanted to feel about yourself.
