Getting on track

Oct 26, 2009

I have six months to get myself ready, and I feel like I've wasted almost all of month one.

In late september I met with Dr. K for the first time. It was a great meeting and I absolutely felt that the surgeon-patient relationship would work. We agreed that RNY was the best solution for me, and we began setting things up and going over the hoops I have to  jump through (fat girl circus!) .

My insurance requires a six month period of doctor supervised diet and exercise before they'll agree to anything. I think this is great- it's six months to begin getting accustomed to the new lifestyle I'll have after surgery, to work on fluid intake and protien and vitamins. In my mind, that can only make the transition easier, right?

well maybe... if I could get with the damned plan.

My GP started me Oct 4th with a basic portion control, water intake, daily exercise plan.
I have SUCKED. I've barely done anything.

It's been a rough month- H1N1, travel, other medical issues... but that's really not an excuse. What is this block I have?

A friend reccomended blogging to clear my head periodically. I think she's right.

Daily goals.. I think that's the place to start. So my goal tomorrow is to get on the Wii fit and drink at least 40 oz of water. For camel girl, this is HUGE.
