Cleveland Clinic (foundation) (COE)

"There were only a few hiccups on my stay at the Clinic. A few of the employes tended to be a little loud in the hallway, and some were having more fun having interaction with each other than being helpful to me. There were no chairs in my hospital room for my family to sit and visit and my son was reprimanded by the nurse for sitting on my bed. Also, out of the four or so times we've visited the BMI center for various reasons, we've been kept waiting every time. Even my surgery was at least two and a half hours delayed. My physicians visit for post-op follow-up was also delayed two hours because of a "snafu". It's not pleasant to just sit and wait and wait and wait although the staff did tell me why the doctors were late both times. Dr. Schauer's staff is very helpful and pleasant, but his assistant, Laura, can be abrupt and somewhat condescending. "

Philip Schauer

"I have complete confidence that Dr. Schauer is the best. I've heard his patients and former patients talk, and they back up this thought. If I am nervous about anything about my surgery, I'm NOT nervous about Dr. Schauer's capabilities. He is kind, caring and very concerned with his patient's knowledge of the surgery and after-effects and also included my husband in our first visit. "
