 Well, I decided I should go ahead and figure out how much lap band will cost as a self-pay patient, and I have my seminar scheduled for March 7th.  I have it scheduled with Dr. Trace Curry.  Here's to hoping I can afford it somehow.  

 Well, according to my husband's HR lady at work, bariatric surgery is included on the insurance policy as long as it it deemed "medically necessary"....I called the insurance yesterday, and found out it is not covered at all.  I gues I now have to go to the seminars given by a few different surgery centers, find out what it would cost to finance it, and see if we can even afford to have it done.  Talk about being bummed majorlly....

 I guess it's time for me to come clean.  I need help.  I'm overweight.  I'm working my way to an early grave if I don't change what I'm doing.  So, I'm going to do something.  I've helped myself once before, and I can do it again.  Back in early 2006, I hit my highest weight of 309.  I was always one who said I'd never get past 200, then 225, then 250.....but when I saw the number hit over 300, I lost it.  I cut out all regular pop (went to only diet), tried to eat right, ate less, and I was able to get down to 240.  I've since regained about 20 of those pounds, and feel myself going back up.  I know I need help with this.  I just got on my husband's insurance in January,  so I have a year to get prepared for a surgery.  I want to get banded.  So, I start my journey of trying to find a family doctor, figuring out what center I want to go to for surgery, and all the other good stuff that goes with it.  I need to become accountable for what i'm doing to my body.  I cannot fail this time--my family depends on me to be there for them as much as I can.  So please, help me begin my journey to a new me....
