Its_My_Season
That's My Final Answer!
Oct 12, 2008
I just got back from my second surgery consult (first was for LapBand) and I'm ready. My last diet appointment is 11/1 and I'm penciled in for 11/24 for surgery.
Wow...I can't believe this is really happening.
Rob's Birthday 9/15/59
Sep 15, 2008

Today would have been Rob's 49th birthday. It will soon be three years (9/25) since his passing and it still hurts like hell. I put my son to bed early today because I didn't want him to question my sobs. Y'all, I went in my bar, poured his favorite drink (cognac), purchased a pack of cigarettes (same brand that he smoked) and put on some Donny Hathaway. I do this every year.
Today, I felt his presence. I always feel his presence, but today was different...it was really strong. Last weekend was rough. My basement flooded out, was seen on my local news looking a hot mess (rained out head, no make-up) and my sleep...I'm living on coffee. But I felt him pushing me on to handle the situation without going crazy.
I've accepted his passing, for it was the end of his season. And I thank God for every day that he was in my life and for giving me my son.
What Would You Wish For?
Aug 13, 2008
http://www.meteorshowersonline.com/perseids.html
My six year old son is so geeked about this. I overheard him tell my Pops he is going to wish for:
1. MarioKart for Wii
2. Playstation 3
And the one that made me tear up.....
3. My Mommy to be happy.
I was floored by his comment. My lil guy is so mature and so wise. True, I've always been able to fake the funk with others, but not with him. When Rob (my DH)passed, we consoled each other. When my money was funny, he knew not to ask for extras. When the tornado touched down several months ago, it was him that was holding me in the basement.
We ran outside a little while ago (it's 9:19pm CST here) to see if anything was popping yet. Nothing. He looked at me with his big, pretty brown eyes and wanted to know what was I going to wish for. I told him nothing...I already had him.

D!!!!!!!I am waaayyyy beyond excited!!! Thanks DivineShani for listening
to my chronic complaints about the sloowwww approval process. You are my heart!I will know my surgery date next week. My doc needs to call and request a waiver for my three months of my medically supervised diet. I need to have my hiatal hernia repaired and the medical review board told me that a "peer to peer review" will take care waiver. I was told that although I had enough diets and schmiets, (they require 3), they needed one more. I'm almost half way through, but if I can get it waived it is on!
Lord knows this has been a loooong three years. I'm feeling so blessed right now.

Waiting and Waiting and Waiting
Jul 30, 2008
Short version:
7/24 - Insurance received faxed packet
7/25 - Packet sent to medical review
7/28 - More info was faxed to the insurance company from my surgeons office.
7/31 - 8/11 -My insurance coordinator is going on vacation. No surgeries will be scheduled.
7/31 - 8/11 -My insurance coordinator is going on vacation. No surgeries will be scheduled.
7/31 - 8/11 -My insurance coordinator is going on vacation. No surgeries will be scheduled.
I'm like what? Yeah I know it takes 7-10 days for approval but dayum, my insurance company
told me they could turn my approval 2-5 days.
I called the ins. company today and was told that the approval is going to take a little longer since they just got the "other" requested fax. I politely told them to put some pep in their
step because:
1. My son starts school soon. I planned on having surgery and on the way to recovery before the first day of class.
2. I'm president of my son's school PTL. First week is going to be filled with activities!
3. I can't start classes if I'm still on the mend.
This here fit shucked up my whole dayum day.
Come have some of this with me.

My Nerves!
Jul 30, 2008
My nerves are on 10!!!!! I'm STILL waiting to hear about my approval.
I'm praying for the best but I'm ready for the worst. I called yesterday (and yes I will bug the mess out of them EVERYDAY) to check on my status....it's still in medical review.
Just in case, I started a six month medically supervised diet with my PCP. You never know what my insurance company will come back with.
August will be month three.I've gotten serious with losing weight so I've compiled a list of motivating benefits to push me along the way:
1. I can swing on a pole...for real. When I lose the weight, I will shine up the pole in my basement (YES I HAVE ONE!!!) and use it to workout.

2. I can wear my four inch stilletos..dagn I miss those, but my weak ankles don't!.

3. I can tie my shoes without leaning to the side.
4. I will have a booty again! (_i_) Seems like it went flat when I gained my weight.
5. And last but not least....I will be able to get my VIDEO VIXEN swirl on!
