A New Year

Jan 01, 2009

I can't believe we are starting a new year. Last year at this time I was waiting to start the LEARN class and so ready to have surgery. I weighed 246 when I started that class and now I weigh 158. 88 pounds lost since this time last year. 92 pounds since my highest of 250. I am so excited that I only have 8 more pounds to go until I have lost 100 pounds. I only have about 18 more pounds to go until I reach my goal of 140. Any lower then that will just be a blessing.
The holidays went well. I had a few bouts of loose stools. I don't know if it was because of what I was eating but I am getting back to normal. I have taken a break from the gym but that is over now. Time to get back to it. I ended up losing 5 pounds over the holidays so that was fine. I'm good with that.
Sometimes I still get frusterated that other people seem to lose weight faster then me. I have always lost slowly but I have no right to complain. I am still losing at the same rate I always have. My body holds onto fat a little longer then others but I am still losing so that is what matters.
I hear that with the start of the new year the base we are stationed at is changing some of their requirements for surgery. The LEARN class will now be six months long and two times a week. Your exercise will be monitored and logged as well as your food logs more scrutinized.  I feel really, really bad for those people I know who want and need this surgery. To have the requirements constantly changing is really frusterating. I hope that people can stick with it or try again at another base. The surgery was worth it for me.
We have 10 months left at this base. We will be moving around the 18months post surgery mark for me. I will have to look into getting a tummy tuck at our next base. Wherever that may be.
