Today I went to the dr for the 6 mo check up and he was just as  pleased as I am.  To date I have lost 80... yes count them....80 pounds!!!!!   My BMI has gone from 48 to 35 and have lost 53 percent of excess body fat.    The biggest problem I have is the protein thing.  I am trying  and I need to up the cardio exercise more.  Which I have no excuse now,  I work close to a park and so now after work I change clothes and go walking before going  home. Gotta keep up the motivation, to close to the finish line to give up.  A couple of weeks ago I finally went thru the closet and the dresser drawers and bagged everything up.  I gave them to a girl I used to work with and she said she was like a kid at Christmas and in a candy store.  So the closet is looking quite bare and the drawers are empty but I feel good in what clothes I do have.  I did put on a size 16 jeans capris.  I was stunned that I got them on and zipped!!!  I am in the I can't believe I can do this...phase.  In August we had company and one day we went to the Zoo and the next day went to Kings Island. I wasn't the first one to wear out.  I kept up with everyone plus doing the cooking and laundry for 12 people.  I have had some "moments" but as the saying goes this to shall pass.  That is what I would think and things got better every day.  Well, this my update and I am sorry I haven't posted more often.  Everyone take care and best of luck.

One month update

Apr 23, 2008

Went to the dr today for one month follow up.  Dr Rod was very very pleased with the progress that I have made.  I have lost total of 34 lbs...BMI from 45 to 43....23% body fat.  Made me feel alot better after hearing him state the facts.  He was also amazed that I started a new job one week after the surgery.  There are some things I still need to work on such as getting in all the protein, liquids and EXERCISE....I do about 30 min of walking while at work and Dr Rod wants me up to an hour but he said that I am progressing towards that goal so he is HAPPY.  I felt alot better coming out of the office than I did going in. The nutritionist said I could start eating anything as long as I can tolerate it.  Still scared thinking about "eating". I just don't want to even try the "bad" stuff.  I feel GREAT!!!... Just wanted to do little update and share the super news!!!

Still no complaints over the surgery..I have had no problems. Now working on the pureed foods which is really good.  So nice to have something to taste!!  Still trying to  work in all the proteins and fluids, but that is getting better too.  Bought a magic bullett and it is the greatest.  Would love to hear any suggestions and tips.

Surgery went well

Mar 23, 2008

Had the surgery and the dr said came out with flying colors.  He was very pleased and so am I.  He removed my gallbladder and repaired hiatal hernia.  Just a little uncomfortable but nothing intolerable. Had family here today for Easter Dinner.  I just made deviled eggs and fiance and daughter did the rest.  It smelled good but I really didn't want anything....very tempted when filling the plastic eggs with candy not to pop an m&m or jelly bean. Ready for the next step.
