Yesterday was my 7 year anniversary. I would not be alive if not for the surgery.
I have gained roughly 30 pounds in the 7 years, my lowest weight being 147 pounds. I am wiggling between a size 12 and 14, depending on the brand and cut. I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd wear that small a size! I started at 286 pounds at a height of 5'2".
I am 60 1/2 years old now and I'm getting tired so I admit to not exercising like I should and I've slipped by drinking soda pop too often. I work in a fast paced kitchen environment at a sheltered workshop, on my feet 8 hours at a stretch, 4 days a week.
I still don't like to have my picture taken since I didn't have a face lift with the bariatric surgery! But I am so much more comfortable in my own skin. I was lucky not to really need any further surgery to remove excess skin-I still have some but nothing I can't deal with.
ObesityHelp was my life-line as I went in to this journey. I learned so much more about what to expect here than ever anything from the actual medical profession.
