I began contemplating WLS over 3 years ago, and this year I finally decided to go through with it.  I've tried every diet there is and wasn't successful at losing weight, so WLS was my last resort.

Oct 6th was my big day.  I was very nervous and just my husband and I went to the hospital for the procedure.  Much of that day is a blur, I had my procedure @ 8 a.m.,, and really don't remember anything besides seeing my husband when I awoke in recovery and telling me everything went fine, and the next memory I have is waking up the next morning.  My hospital stay was wonderful, the staff was wonderful and I couldn't have asked for better.  During the hospital stay, my pain was very well managed so I thought recovery was going to be a breeze.

Oct 8th I was released from the hospital and reality quickly set in.  My pain although manageable seemed to be worse at home for some reason, and getting out of the bed provided some of the worse pain I have ever experienced.  During my first week, I soon thought to myself, "What did I do?"  As the days progress, things seem to get a little better everyday, but I'm not completely ecstatic yet.

Nov 4:  I'm almost (2 days shy)1 month post-op.  Most of my aches and pains are gone although I'm now experiencing back pain that I've never had before.  I go do the Dr. tomorrow and will make sure they check me for a UTI.  I'm also fighting fatige and it's winning.  After I tackle these two issues, I'll feel a lot better about my decision to have the surgery.  My eating is going alright.  I can handle about two or three tablespoons of food and I'm full.  I'm still on bariatic soft so my menu is very limited.  I've tried twice to eat some white fish, but I'm not able to tolerate it.  I'm also apprehensive about trying any other solids right now.
