Delay... delay... delay...
Jul 10, 2007
Due to errors in Dr. Davidson's office, my surgery has been changed to July 27th. :0( I called the nurse to ask a question and found out that a couple of weeks ago when I rescheduled to July 13th, they MISPLACED MY FILE and never put me in the computer and now Dr. Davidson is going on vacation that day. I couldn't do it the 20th because I have a business trip just a few days later. So now it's the 27th. I'm so angry because I had already arranged for my sister-in-law to come stay with me for a couple of days. This just drags on and on. Honestly, I think the doctor should shorten his vacation. This really puts a cramp in my plans and those of my family.
When I originally met with the doctor he did not say to lose any weight before surgery. Then I met with Sandy, his nurse practitioner, and she was really rude. She told me to lose 15 lbs and at that point my surgery was only 3 weeks away. I don't think that is physically possible. She told me that I should be glad she wasn't telling me to lose more since the doctor usually asks people to lose 10% of their body weight before surgery. So I did my best and lost 10. But now with all the delays some of it is creeping back. I'm really tired of this and I just want to get it done. And I want to tell Sandy, "Honey, don't you think that if I could lose 15 lbs in 3 weeks perhaps I wouldn't NEED surgery?!?!"
I have to say that Dr. Davidson's staff have not impressed me. They signed me up for a nutrition class and then just by luck I found out that there was another class I needed to take before surgery. The doc tells me one thing and the nurse practitioner tells me another. My file gets lost, etcetera. I think I'd change doctors if I wasn't in this far already - and I hadn't already paid the doctor $5K!
Thanks to the people who sent me well wishes for my surgery. I only wish it was this Friday. Right now it seems like it will never come.
