Update on WeightWatchers Progress
Jul 23, 2007
So I have been doing Weight Watchers for a total of 6 weeks and I have lost 13.2lbs. So it seems to be working. I am trying really hard. I need to start excising more and I would probably see it come off quicker. I am on tract to lose my 27lbs in 3 month. Which would put me under 250 my first goal. Then it will be 25lbs, which will put me under 225. Wish me luck!!
I joined Weight Watchers....
Jun 14, 2007
I joined weight watcher on 06/06/2007. I weighed 276.8. Which means I have gained 15 or so pounds. Needless to say I was not happy!! I just had my second weigh in last night and I only lost .8lbs. I have been so good. I have not had regular soda or fast food in a week. I tracked everything I ate. I drank all of my water etc. I am pretty discouraged!! I have to do this in order for my insurance to cover weight loss surgery. I really hope it works. I will continue to try my hardest.
My game plan: I will exercise for 1.5 hours a day. I will drink 60+ ounces of water per day. I will eat every single point I have every single day. I will eat more protein every day.
Wish me luck and I will keep all of you posted on my progress!!
WENT TO SEE THE PCP.....
Jan 11, 2007
I went to see my PCP yesterday for a physical. They were very supportive of the weight loss surgery. I had some blood work done and the asked me how I was feeling. I told them I have been very tired lately I feel like I never sleep. My husband asked me on Tuesday what was wrong because I had bags and circles around my eyes. I know something is wrong and I just want to sleep better and feel better! They gave me some medicine for my acid reflux and my allergies. Well that all for today, I am really tired I’ll write later…
YES.....

I am so excited…I was reading today on OH about insurance approvals. So I decided to find other people who have Medical Mutual SuperMed Plus. To my amazement 99% of them said that the surgery was not hard to get approved for and they were approved the first time!! This is the best news… A late Christmas present. (LOL). Of course it must be medically necessary, which it is. Some of them did have higher BMI then mine but some had lower. Things are looking up for me. I found out some other great news today also. My best friend may wait for me so we can have the surgery done together. This was fantastic news………….. I'll need her support!! Thanxs Kellie
WOW......
Dec 19, 2006
WOW! There are so many inspirational stories here on OH. It makes me more and more excited and less nervous! I can’t wait to do physical activities again. I will be going to see my PCP on January 10. I think I may have sleep apnea and I want to talk to him about the wls. Hopefully he is supportive. I can’t wait to get my life back!! Life is good…
Nervous.........
Dec 05, 2006
Well I got a call from my new PCP and they need to know more information… Do I have any health problems now? None that I know of…So now I am thinking does this mean I am not going to get approved by Medical mutual. I want this so bad and it really scares me that I might not be approved. If anyone has any information on paying for this on your own please leave a comment. I am willing to do this with or without insurance. I wish insurance companies would understand that this surgery is not always cosmetic. I am doing this for my health not the way I look.
TAKING THE FIRST STEP!!
Dec 05, 2006
Well I have taken the first step on this long overdue journey. I signed up for a weight loss seminar on January 13. I am extremely excited and a little nervous. I have medical mutual and they don’t make it easy for people to have this surgery done. I am pretty sure I meet the criteria to have the surgery. I am at least 100lbs over weight. I have a history of diabetes, heart disease and sleep apnea in my family. I have tried weight watchers and several other diets, none of them work for me I just gain it all back and sometimes more. I am only 23 years old and I feel like I am so much older. I can’t do some of the things I use to do when I wasn’t carrying all of this extra weight. For example, I no longer like to go walk in the park with my husband and dogs. I can’t run a lap around the track anymore little alone a mile. I wont ride horses anymore because I feel sorry for them because of how heavy I am. I am finally ready to admit I have a weight problem and I am ready to do something about it. I want my life back!!!! I hope this surgery will help me accomplish that!
