5 months post op
Sep 14, 2010
Ok... So I'm 5 months post op. Things are going great. I'm down to 298 pounds that's 95 pounds lost since April. I'm feeling great and starting to look it also. Got a new hair cut and starting to love the new me. My husband seems to be enjoying it also. ;o) Still messuring and weighing out all my food before eating. It's the easiest way to keep track of what I'm eating and making sure i'm not eating over the alotted 4 ounces per meal. Also keeping the food journal is an easy way to monitor that I'm getting the max amount of protein with each meal. I won't go back to the doctors until November for my 6 month follow up and I will update again then.

4 month post op
Aug 06, 2010
Well I've made it to my 4th month. I've gotten the clearance to try all sorts of foods and textures. I'm down to 315 as of Tuesday and feeling so much better. I posted some new pictures of me. The one with the White/Black pocka dotted shirt is from today and I'm showing off my new haircut. Big change from the extremely long hair i had in the preop photos. I think the new cut fits my new face. I've tried alot of different foods and the only thing I can't tolerate is cereal with milk. Something about the liquid with solids doesn't settle well and makes me dump and have to lay down for a while. but there aren't many things i can't have if in very small amounts. Moderation is the key. Well I will go for now and post at a later time.

2 months post op
Jun 10, 2010
I am officially 2 months post op and doing great. I'm down to 333 which is amazing!!! I haven't been this weight in +10 years. I'm feeling fantastic. I go for my 3 month follow up with Dr. Scott on July 15th and should be cleared for stage 4 foods which is pretty much everything except for high fatty foods and sugars, but who needs those. I certainly don't. My tast buds have changed some. Somethings I didn't like before are now appealing to me. And somethings I used to love I can't stand any longer. WLS does change you in many ways. My confidence is higher and Joel and I went out to eat and sat in a booth and I didn't have to move the table or bench seat to fit. It was great. I've gone from a womans size 34 to a 26/28 in two months and that's never happened to me before. My children have gone to visit their grandparents for the summer and I can't wait to see there faces when they see me in two months. I will have definately changed by time August roles around. Well I will update again soon.

2 week follow up appointment a success
Apr 26, 2010
I had my two week follow up appointment with Dr. Scott last week and everything looks great. My nutritionist Kristin is happy with the amount of protein I am taking in 73-94 grams is my daily goal. I am tired of being on the stage 2 "puree" phase and having to run everything in the blender but I'll do it because I don't want to harm my new little stomach. So I go back next week on the 6th for my 4 week appointment and I should get the ok to move onto stage 3 "soft" foods. Yeah say bye bye to the blender. Anyway It's one step closer to the stage 4 which is normal everything just lower fat and sugars which I'm already used to. I weighed today out of curiosity and I'm down to 354. Man I haven't been in the 350's in sooooooo long! It feels really good. I got the clerance from Dr. Scott to start back on the treadmill and I did 1.14 miles at 2.5 miles per hour. so it only took me like 27 minutes. I also used my resistance bands which Dr. Scott cleared me for last week. It feels really good to get back into the pre-op excersise routine. Well I better go. I will update again soon.

2 weeks since surgery
Apr 17, 2010
I'm two weeks post op. I'm able to eat up to my 4 oz of food at each meal on certain foods and taking in about 40-50 oz of fluid. still working on hitting the 64 a day. Dr. Scott found a hernia near my navel when he went in to do the bypass. I didn't even know it was there. Thank god he fixed it that way I don't have to worry about it in the future. I am so grateful to him for all he has done for me. This is changing my life and the way I feel about myself and the world around me. I started this process at about 393 lbs and I weighed on 04/16 and I'm down to 359. YEAH!! 10 more pounds and I will have surpassed every diet I have been on in the past 3-4 years. I could only ever get to 350 and then I'd stop loosing and give up. But life with WLS is helping me realize my goal and I will get there. Love to all and I will write again after my check up on 04/22/10.
