14 Months and 136 pounds! Woohoo!
Dec 23, 2009
I am so sorry that I have been so neglectful of my obesity help family. It has been a wild ride on this journey. I have now lost 136 pounds and have 25 more for my goal weight. I will update pictures soon. I hope everyone has a wonderful Merry Christmas. We all have so much to look forward to with our improved lives.

Wow, it's been a long time since my last post!
Jul 19, 2009
It's been ages since I posted. So many changes in a short amount of time. Currently I have lost 125 pounds! I weigh 177 and I have only 36 more to go to reach the "normal" weight . I look back in the last 9 months and I think that I should have done this a LONG time ago. I needed to be ready and I wasn't. Everything happens for a reason and we might not know about it at the time, but there is a reason. I've had a pretty easy time of it, really no huge complications. Normal ones, losing hair, iron absorption that kind of stuff. If you do what your surgeon tells you and take your iron, B12 and calcium. I have found VEMMA works fantastic for me. I still take bariatric iron, calcium and I get B-12 shots.
I've been looking back and trying to remember when I weighed 177, I think its been at least 24 years, I know I weighed 185 when I got married 23 years ago. My DH has been so fantastic throughout all this. We have a new routine, I decide what I want to eat when we go out, I eat my handful of bites and he eats the rest. We save money and he has lost a few pounds also! I do need to up the exercise and add resistance training to my routine. My arms look terrible. Bat Wings for sure!!
I'm starting to think about the next step, the plastics that I will be going for. Definitely my upper arms first. Then, I have no idea what will be next. Since I'm paying, it will be a long process.
Till later,
Kerri

Things are going great! I've lost 53 lbs since surgery, 73 since the start of this journey. The Holidays were fantastic. I got what I asked for and more! I got the ice cream maker that I've wanted since I had the surgery. I am trying the eggface recipes for protein ice cream, they have been ok, not the same as real ice cream, but better than shakes. Down some more!
Dec 11, 2008
Well, it's not been easy, the transition to real food, but I am handling it pretty well. I've lost more weight and I have more good days than bad days. I've learned it's just a matter of getting your protein and water in and trying some new food item each day. I've tried Kay's Naturals protein snacks, they aren't that bad. Their wasabi pretzel sticks are a kick! The french vanilla cereal wasn't to my liking but everyone has different tastes. I am down to 246, which it's been a LONG time since I was that weight. I am getting into 22/24 pants and shirts, almost time to get rid of the 26's that I have. Of course I'm going to save one pair of pants for my picture when I reach my goal weight. That'll be a kick. Here's my stats (302/282/246/134) 105 to goal!

Doing Good!
Nov 26, 2008
I went 10 days without losing weight, but my clothes are fitting better, so I must have been shifting things around!! I have lost another 2 pounds so that's 25 since surgery. I am satisfied, I am now eating mostly soft solids and I progress next Monday to "Real Food" one at a time, I think the first will be Bacon and then Salad.
A week ago if you asked me whether I would do this again the answer would be no, but that was just a phase, and the answer today is YES, Things were rough in the pureed stage, I couldn't find anything that I could eat except scrambled eggs, refried beans, chili, and applesauce. I now tolerate many more things and am looking forward as I said above to eat "normal food", just really really small portions.
My hardest part is too eat slow, if I don't I know it almost immediately!
Hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving, For us, we should be thankful for what we do have and will have in the future----Our health! and being able to enjoy life.

I've lost 23# since surgery!
Nov 11, 2008
Sorry, I haven't posted for awhile. Been really busy at work. Well, I'm down 23# since surgery. I have some challenges with finding food that I tolerate. I am on my 5th week since surgery. I lost 21 in 21days, but only lost 2 the following week, I'm not complaining. I lost 43 total since August. I am now wearing clothes I haven't worn in two years, almost out of the 26's and soon to be in 24's.
Life is good, I'm just getting used to my pouch.

I went back to Work!
Oct 25, 2008
Well, I went back to work on Friday and I worked today, it went great. Everyone was happy to see me and said they could see a difference.
Since I started the whole process I have lost 32 #, which I think was in July. Day before surgery I weighed 275. I got on the scales on Friday and I weighed 270. My goal is 134. So, I can't wait for things to really start moving and I can get back into my old smaller clothes.
Until later,
Kerri

I'm Bored!
Oct 20, 2008
For those of you who Don't have busy work lives, you have no need to read this post! I work in a very demanding fast paced accounting office where I process the payroll, all day long. Every other week it's the same thing. But--I have to say that I miss it. I can't wait until I go back to work!!! I am so bored, I don't want to watch TV, read or do any thing else that's lazy. I know, it sounds like I'm sick---I'm not---just BORED! I will go back to work on Friday if it kills me, at least I will be doing something! LOL. My recovery has been uneventful, easy and I can't wait for 17 more days so that I can progress to soft solids, and pureeds.

It's been a Blur!
Oct 15, 2008
On Wednesday the 8th I started liquids, they weren't bad, actually towards the end I wasn't even hungry. On the 13th I had to be at the hospital at 6am, surgery was scheduled at 8 am. Everything was so smooth and I was wisked away to surgery without fear. I woke up in my room about 11:30, slept most of the day, but did get out of bed in the evening to go walk a small loop. I came home today the 15th. Things are going good, I am looking forward to the improved me. Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
