Robin P. Blackstone

"My first inpression of Dr. Blackstone was that she is very straight forward. I have only met her at the seminar that is required prior to surgery. The thing that I really like about her was that she had her husband there as assistance and support. She appears very honest and personable. I was still nervous about the surgery. The whole 'being cut on' thing. There was a little advertisement for her clinic but most of the seminar was educational. I realized that about half way thru the seminar I began to feel much more comfortable with the aspect of having surgery. Dr. Blackstone explined the different types of surgery and by the time she got finished expalining the Lap RNY I was feeling much less nervous. I felt a kind of rightness with the whole thing. I think that it has to do with 2 things. Dr. blackstone herself and gaining knowledge about the surgery itself. Also she explained all the things that could go wrong and what they do in prep to make sure nothing happens. The program has a very extensive aftercare program. She gave us time frames and some info about the actual program. There will be more info forth coming about the aftercare program the closer to surgery I get. So far I really like her. More info to come as I get further in the program. *********************Post Op ************* I am currently 5 days post op and know that Dr. Blackstone and her surgical team are the best in the valley and anywhere else that I know of. They put great effort into making my surgery the best experience possible. She and her team worked on me for and extra hour and a half to allow me to have LAP as I desired and gave me their best energy to have that be what I got. And that is what I got. I am so happy. The recovery so far has been great. I begin the aftercare program soon and believe that it will be put together with the same focus and intent that everything else has. There are sometimes problems with her staff and some major switches in staff due the quickness of how fast her business has grown but my understanding of the changes she has made will fix the problems that have cropped up. As I said Dr. Balckstone and her surgical team are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Campus (COE)

"the staff was giving ans prompt pleasant and accomidating to my size and the restrictions due to my size and the after effects of the surgery. They invited me back a number of times to show for them post weight loss and post plastics. enjoyed my stay in this hospital if you can say that about a stay in the hospital. I would highly recommend that hospital to individuals who live inside and outside the state."

Mary Vega

"I went in for my yearly pap. Mary was very easy going and made me feel very much at ease. She asked questions and gave info in a very easy to understand manner. She was very open to my questions and explained things that I had been afraid to ask before. She was very thurough in getting medical history and was not uncomfortable asking the questions that need to be asked. she was also not thrown by my answers. She made the experience a very nice experience for the type of experience that it is. JT"

Tiffany Pankow

"What to say about Tiffany... First of all she is so personalbe that I am allowed to call her Tiffany and not Dr. Pankow. Second, I met her for the first time and made three demands of her: An evaluation for depression to go on anti-depressants, a referral for gastric Bypass surgery and a referral for the removal of a Pannus. She and her nurse Maria have bent over backwards helping me to get the referrals that I need for the surgeries. She has also presented info in very clear, concise way. Sometimes it is like she has an understanding of me that came without me having to verbalize anything. As you can tell I really like her."

Erika Kao

"Dr. Erika Kao was referred to me by a psychologist that I work with that I would call a friend. From the first, Erika was very punctual in returning calls. She was very personable over the phone and open to checking out the possibility of completing the eval for me. She initially had little information about what was needed for the eval. She was very open to checking out Obesityhelp.com to see what they recommended for the eval to meet the needs of my insurance company. There were also payment issues with the insurance company and she was very willing to accept all options. She was also willing to learn what was necessary to get paid for her services and willing to do the paperwork to bill the insurance direct. Then the actual interview: I was a little nervous going in. I told her so. She said that she hoped that would change thru the process. We sat down and she explained everything. We were there for 2 hrs and she is very thorough. She took about 10 pages of notes. I have a kinda time limit on when I need the results back. If I competed the MMPI in time she promised that I would have the eval completed within my time line. I have faith that she will do this. 11/23/02... The eval has been completed and Dr. Kao sat down with me and went over the info contained in the eval that she is sending to my surgeon. There were parts of the eval that may not look or feel to good to me and we discussed this. She has recommended me for WLS. She has some suggestions about therapy and staying on my anti-depressant meds. She told me that if Dr. Blackstone has any problems with what was written that she would be happy to discuss it with her. *** I have recommended her to a co-worker who is also wanting WLS. And if there are others out there in PHX, AZ needing an eval I would highly recommend her."

Kris Cooper

"I never met this person. My greaTest frustration with her is that she had been recommended by my surgeon but she refused to accept the payment offered by my insurance company. She wanted to charge me an additional $214.00. "
