I know I should just go ahead and do it. We had a family reunion dinner tonight and I sat beside my aunt whom I've always had a great relationship with. 2 years ago, she had RNY and has lost 130 lbs. and looks and feels absolutely phenomenal. I used this opportunity to talk to her about the expectations and just some general stuff about the surgery. I got excited talking to her and just looking at her! She's been very obese as long as I can remember. We're approximately the same height and I, myself, have about 120lbs. to lose. If she can do it, I certainly can!
So, I'm DEFINITELY going to take the first step and call my doctor tomorrow to make an appointment to get the referral. I figure I have until the IV goes in to back out but I owe it to myself to learn everything I can about it and make an informed decision with my husband. I think, after seeing my aunt, he is feeling more positive about it. He was pretty unsure before and nervous about it, but seeing the results and talking to my aunt, he has a better outlook on the entire process.
Any advice, recommendations, information you can share - please feel free!!!
