9/30/02 Only one month until my surgery! Oh My Goodness I can't wait. I think I'm getting more anxious than nervous. I just want to get it over with. I've never had surgery before so I have no idea what to expect. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. People keep telling me that they've never seen anyone so happy about having surgery! BUT I AM! I want it! I can't wait!!!!!!
10/14/02 I AM APPROVED! and let me tell you this was a long and very stressful process. I have been calling the insurance co every week since August, and I am finally approved with 15 days to go. I was approved as of last Wednesday but do you think they would call and tell me that? HELL NO! I hated calling every week because I don't like to bother people but damn it! It works! Call them and talk to the manager, thats the only way to get through! 15 days and counting!!!!!!!!
10/19/02 Okay, it's actually official! I am approved. After going back and forth getting different answers all week, I've finally received my approval letter. All I can say is Insurance copanies are a disaster to deal with! And I have completed my pre-op testing. I had a physical, an ekg, blood work,and a few x-rays, but all is good. Only 12 days to go! Geez this is going so fast! I think it will be here before I'm ready for it!!!
11/3/02 It's finally over!!!! I had my surgery on 10/30 and everything went well. I'm still in some pain but its getting better every day. I must admit I'm getting sick of jello by now, only 3 more days and I get to try some soft food! I can't wait!!!! I'm really missing all the tastes that I used to love, but it's ok because I've already lost 6 lbs!!!!! This is so awesome!!!!!!!!!
11/8/02 Well its been 9 days and I'm now down 20 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!! How totally cool!!!!!!!! I am getting so excited!. I started on soft foods yesterday and it went ok except for alot of pain in my stomach, but it's much better today. I'm taking everything slow. I went outside today, it feels so good to get out of the house and walk around like normal. Every day something new comes up and I try to face everything with a positive attitude, so far I think it's working. I am so glad I did this, there is no doubt in my mind, this was the right thing for me to do :)
11/15/02 2 weeks and 2 days! Time is flying by. I stopped weighing myself, I was doing it every day, which is a very bad habit to get into. I put on a pair of my pants today and I was so happy I started crying!!!!!! They are getting too big! Everything is getting too big! This is so totally awesome!!!!!!! I'm going shopping today to get some new things, not too much because I'll be changing sizes so fast :) I am so excited!!!!!!
11/18/02 I had my 3 week follow up appointment today. I am offically down 27 pounds!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!! And my incisions are healing very well! Oh Happy Day!!!!!
11/28/02 Happy Turkey Day!!!!! 4 weeks post-op and I am down 36 pounds!!!!!!! I can't believe I am under 280, this is so cool! And eating is going so well, i don't push myself and things work out ok! I'm very excited to see how today goes, Pass the tiny tiny turkey please!
12/12/02 Christmas is coming and I'm NOT GETTING FAT!!!!!!! This is so much fun, 6 weeks post-op and I'm down 41 pounds! Yay!!!!!! Eating is still slow, I'm trying to get more food in, but its hard, I don't feel hungry! Imagine that!!!!!
01/03/03 MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! I made my 1st goal on christmas day, I lost 50 pounds!!! Merry Christmas to me!!! And now I'm down to 258 with a total loss of 55 pounds! I have no idea what my New Year's resolution should be, it has always been to loose weight and now I am!!! I AM SO HAPPY :)
01/21/03 So far it's been a great month, a promotion at work and the pounds keep dropping, I'm down 67 pounds already and I'm just getting close to my 3 month mark!!!!! I'm actually under 250 pounds! I can't even remember the last time I was down here! Life is great, AND FREEZING!!!! I can't wait for spring!!!!!!!
02/04/03 Wow!!!! I am down 75 pounds in alittle over 3 months! How totally awesome!!!!!! The century mark is right around the corner!!! It's time to party!!!!!!!!!
02/23/02 I am now down 80 pounds! Only 20 more to go!!! I want to make the century mark for my honey's big birthday on March 26th!!! I hope, I hope, I hope!!!!!!!
03/27/03 Well Geez! Time certainly does fly when you're having fun!!! I'm down 91 lbs now and I feel great. I just bought a new spring coat and the size is XL!!!!!!!! I used to be a big honkin' 3X!!!!!!!!! Life is so great! Bring on the sunshine
05/05/03 Another month over and lots more going on! I joined Curves last month and I am loving it, it feels so good to be able to move around and run and do normal things. I have so much energy now! It's amazing!!! I'm down 95 pounds so far, the century mark is so close I can "taste" it ha ha ha!!! My weight loss has slowed down alot because of going to the gym, I'm building so much muscle and it's worth it, the inches keep dropping so fast!!!! Spring is here!!!!!!
5/26/03 The day I have been waiting for is finally here!!! I HAVE JOINED THE CENTURY CLUB!!!!!!!!!! I am now down 102 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7/07/03 Well gee time does fly bye so fast! I'm down 112 pounds. Can I just say that I can't believe how much I love hot weather now!!! It's so amazing. I used to hate the heat, I would get sweaty so fast, now I'm going out for walks in 90 degree heat and I am so comfortable!!!!!! It's absolutely awesome. I'm taking a trip to St. Thomas in September as a birthday present to myself and I can't wait! It's my first tropical vacation and it never would have been possible without this surgery!
7/29/03 I BROKE 200 LBS!!!!! I'm at 199!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't been below 200 lbs since I was 14! What an amazing feeling!!! 116 pounds gone forever and I keep getting smaller. I'm wearing a size 14/16, I used to wear a 26/28. This is just so amazing! One more month and I'll be on the island getting some sun!!!!!!!!
9/08/03 I just got back from St. Thomas and I had a blast. It was the most amazing trip. Everything was perfect! Sunny weather, beautiful beaches and even better, the pictures turned out great! I look fantastic, major improvement!!! I want to go back right this minute! I lost 6 pounds while I was away, very cool! So now I'm down 120 lbs and still dropping! Love it, love it , love it! St. Thomas I miss you!!!!!
4/28/2007 Wow, I'm a slacker! Ok, update time! October 26, 2004 I got engaged. April 4, 2006 I had upper arm surgeries to remove all the hanging skin. We planned the wedding for November 11, 2007 but are changing it because my little baby is due on September 25th, 2007! Isn't life great!
