Doctor's Office
Jan 15, 2008
I called Dr Khalili's office to see if they had any cancellations in his schedule. I just can't wait until February to see him. I'm on the phone with his scheduler when he informs me that my February appointment isn't on the book. Griselda, the first person I spoke with goofed! He said that my appointment time didn't make sense. Beacuse during the morning hours on that day the doctor does XY&Z and not consults. Homeslice wants to put me on hold so he can forward me to Griselda. I yell out Nooooo because now I don't trust her! Treat me like you've never heard of me before since I'm not in the system to begin with, fine? Fine! Sweet! I love winning a conversation like that. I mention to homeslice that in the surgery room, there's more than one surgeon. I want Dr. Khalili to be the main guy but does that mean I have to have a consulation with him? Homeslice sets up the first available appointment with an older gentleman by the name of Dr. Furman - not sure if his first name is Mark or if that's the OJ guy. Anywho - homeslice put on my notes that I want Dr. Khalili to perform THE surgery. I gave him my analogy that Dr. Khalili is a rockstar and everyone else is a back up singer. Now Griselda - she's a roadie while homeslice is the rockstar of appointment scheduling! Always good to have a good repoire with anyone helping me out.
Sooo my consult is now next week!

I'm so stoked about taking the first steps towards surgery. I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to share this with my family yet. I told a very good friend and co-worker who said, "Oh you're going to be beautiful!". I'm sure she meant no harm but I mentioned, that I already feel I'm beautiful. "Well you have a pretty face but now you're going to have the body that matches!". MAN that hurt. My first appointment with Dr Khalili is in February so hopefully everything will go as planned.
Insurance says it's covered as long as Anthem BC/BS reviews it. I think I'm going to get a note book to keep track of everything.

The first step is the deepest

Well today I made the official first step to Weight Loss Surgery. Thankfully I got awesome advice from someone who has been through this. I got my first tattoo last year. Other people who get tattoos laugh at me when they find out the amount of homework I did and investigating into the tattoo artist. Needless to say I'll do the same when it comes to picking the doctor to go with. I like the look of this Cedars Sinai place that I was recommended to go to. I plan on visiting it in person next Tuesday at a meet and greet sort of meeting for newbies.
I'm not sure if I'm going to tell my family about this or not. I just don't want to hear the feedback. I can't stand unsolicited advice and by not telling them I can avoid this.
Just wanted to document this first step.
