Gettin' ready for the big day
Nov 12, 2010
Well, I went to Wal-Mart and bought a few vitamins, Super B-Complex, Liquid D and I bought some protein powder. I also got a high protein shake to get a feel for the taste. I put some of the protein powder in a yogurt...not bad. Just trying out some combinations so when I need to I know what works with what and when. I don't want to have to experiment with the little food I can have after the surgery. I still need to get a few more things. I need my chewable daily vitamins. I won't get iron unless I need to. I've never been anemic so until I need it I'll put that one off.
Baby food is next to taste. I know I will need to add a little salt but I won't mind using baby food. Easy! lol
Once I'm a few weeks down the road, I'll be working on using adult-normal food. I'll have to get used to fixing my food differently.
At first having to spread my food over an hour, I was thinking that all my food will be cold before I ate it. I went looking for the kind of baby dish that I used to use with my kids....MANY years ago. The kind that has a place to add warm water that keeps the food warm. Wellllll, seems they don't make them anymore. At least Wal-Mart and Toys r Us doesn't carry them. The young man in Toys r Us looked at me like I had lost my mind! lol But then he was only old enough to have peach fuzz anyway. lol
I'm having fun trying out everything. I will have everything here and in my head before I leave for the hospital.
I also got on Amazon and found an "idiot's guide" to bariatric surgery diets etc. It was rated high so I might get a couple of them. One for a friend of mine and one for me. Can't hurt.
Well so far so good. I won't relax until I've passed my blood work and scope. Not to mention the filter. Anything can keep me from my goal so I'll be a little ill at ease until I get the final ok to check in.
