I have been struggling with weight problems for at least 18 yrs.  When my fourth son was born, I couldn't loose the weight.  I tried pills, diets and fitness centers.  I come from a family of big boned women.  I have a sister who has struggled with her weight all of her life.  I was always the thin one.  Seven years ago I was diagnosed with Diabetes II.  As everyone who knows this diagnosis is a nightmare.  I have been insulin dependent four months into my diagnosis.  I have been very resistent to all medication.  I''ve tried changing eating habits to basically starving myself so that my glucose levels would not rise.  That itself is always the wrong choice.  I talked to my PCP and he referred me to Dr. Alex Gandsas at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.  I am now 3 mos. out.  I've lost a total of 40 pds.  I am feeling very confident that somewhere down the line I will know longer need medication.  I have so much energy.  Sometimes I think that I have too much energy.
