"Considering my operation finished and we had the 2003 blackout, the hospital was exceptional. I was a bit disappointed that I was not put in the area where WLS patients when coming out of ICU because of the blackout. The staff was excellent during my stay. Caring, attentive and went out of their way for the most part. Yes, parking is a bitch and costly, but this is NYC and we were aware of that. I was happy I had my surgery at Lenox Hill."

"I met Dr. Leitman 3/19/03. I was impressed with the way he handled the appointment, taking care to examine me and explain all the procedures, risks, and what to expect. I like his personality and his bedside manner. I did extensive research about the surgery and one of his patients had referred me to him (THANK YOU PAULA) and what to expect. After he examined me, he told me I was a good candidate for the surgery, and that it was my decision. After all my research, I felt at a loss for questions. I kept thinking or reaching for questions that I should be asking to keep the dialogue going and that I was very interested. I felt a little embarrassed, but he put my at ease. I had made a decision already, and I told Dr. Leitman that I wanted to start the process leading to the operation. I have very bad arthritis in my knees and my primary and orthopedic doctor both agree that the loss of weight will help me immensely. I want the ability to move about freely and with less pain. This was a factor in my decision. Joan, the office manager is wonderful. She reminds me of an assistant I had. Great personality and seems very efficient. In all, my first impression of Dr. Leitman is a 10 out of 10. "
