Im a 42 at the present time I've been overweight since really as long as I can remember. I got married in 1985 I was young she was young and it lasted until 1986. I joined the military and moved away, thats the only time I wasnt over weight was from 85 until about 87. I got remarried in 89 to a great gal and we both worked many times on controling our weight. We never really did win the battle with our weight.
In November of 2003 my wife had gastric bypass and lost over a 100 lbs, myself I just kept climbing. Then we had a split in 2005 and got divorced. I lost 60 lbs on the divorce diet ( I dont recommend it) and felt better about everything life had to offer. We got back together and remarried in Oct of 2007. Slowly but surely my weight has came back from the 257 back to the 308. Guess its brought back the old me ( as I've been told) also since we have been having problems for awhile now. Not real sure were thats going its from day to day I guess. When these problems started I really was thinking about gastric bypass myself so I been dieting like a mad banshee. I lost the weight that qualified me for surgery then found out I went over the 6 month time my insurance gave me. I got really disguisted and thought about gaining the weight back and starting over, but after talking to the Doctor I realized I could just keep losing and get down to the weight in thwe time allowed and have it done without all the wear and tear on the body. So recently I made that weight and got my insurance approval letter. So now its just a matter of getting it scheduled.
Its been 2 weeks now and still no appointment dont know whats up date today 10-21-08. Well made the call again this morning (10-22) talked with Grechen have a Preop class on Nov 17th and Surgery date of Nov 18th. I'm so happy!
