My husband Joseph had his surgery today. What a trooper! We were up at 4 a.m. and off to Hartford Hospital for 5:45 a.m. Surgery went off on schedule at 7:45 a.m. My honey was nervous but confident on the journey that he was undertaking. At 10:00 a.m. Dr. called me and said that everything had gone well and that he will be in recovery about two hours before I could see him. Well, those hours were long and worrisome. Although I felt confident that the doctor was the best for my husband, I needed reassurance. I finally got to see him at 1:00 p.m. He looked at me and smiled and I knew that he was going to be okay. Since my husband has a C-Pap machine, the procedures at that hospital is to keep their patient in the Recovery Room until discharge. Therefore, I am only allowed to see him five minutes every two hours. I saw him again at three this afternoon and they were going to sit him up. Progress. I came home for a few hours and will be returning to see him for another five minutes. If everything continues to improve, Joseph will be coming home tomorrow and will be able to update his new found family through the support group an update.
I want to thank each and every one who has sent my husband prayers and encouraging words. They have helped him alot. My best to all of you in your journey................joella
