I am scheduled for surgery on Sept. 10th. I am excited but it does not seem real yet. Suppose it will when I start the pre-surgery diet!

Had the surgery on Monday. Today's Friday. I rememeber that Monday,I felt better than expected. I could feel the nose tube in my throat and it made it sore but I did not feel it affected my breathing in any way. Sore belly of course but no worse than expected. I was glad they got gall bladder at the same time. Tuesday was my day to feel bad. I had lots of pain from the gas - particularly under the shoulder. As they said, it subsided when they removed one of the draininage tubes When I went to class about Gtube, I was doped and in pain and found it hard to concentrate. Gave my hubby paper and pencil to take notes. First day home, mostly slept - got no rest in hospital and my husband slept as well. Each day I have felt a little stonger. Did my stretching exercises on Wednesday. It was so much like hanging out clothes that is what I did on Thursday.Walked on treadmill 5 minutes on Wednesday and 10 on thursday. Guess I will have to increase today. The G-tube doesn't bother me as much as i think it is worthless. Mine is pointed downward and will not operate like a funnel. I have to push whatever I put in down - then like a stopped up sink, it sometimes rises back up. I have not been sleeping well so I wonder if the meds are just staying in the tube and never getting absorbed. I will talk to Kevin about it next week. It is nive to have some full liquids - I 'd had it with broth and jello. Waiting for some of this weight to start dropping. Know I was fille with fluids but it seems forever since I have had a solid meal.
