KabinKitty
I am a mom with grown children, married to the first guy I ever dated since 1973. We live in a log cabin in the middle of a woods, in rural northwest Ohio.
I grew up as a chubby child and weighed 205 when I graduated from high school. At age 19 I began attending "Diet Workshop" and within a year I had lost 75 pounds. I stayed at a resonable weight for about 20 years. I believe my weight problem reappeared when I started taking blood pressure medications. As of June 2010 I am on 3 blood pressure meds, potassium and Lipitor. I have severe sleep apnea and my blood sugar has been borderline.
Weight loss surgery is not something I ever thought I would do, until this year. I've researched all the different surgeries and have concluded that the sleeve gastrectomy is the best for me.
Now the job is to get BC/BS to approve it. As of today BC/BS only covers it if you have the Federal plan or if you fight their denials and win.
I've had enough surgery in my life time already ( 8 I think?)! I've had 4 "open" abdominal surgeries and my surgeon feels if we have to appeal this surgery that is one thing he will point out to get me approved. I'm praying for a wonderful outcome to all this!
