First week on Weight Watchers

Jan 12, 2009

Well, I joined WW last Thursday and discovered I'm 3 lbs heavier than I thought.  It's going ok, but I'm either hungry or stuffed. So obviously I need to get more snacks in and more water drinking. I think I was kind of going through a withdrawl of sorts, stomach cramps, head ache, raw emotions. I'm glad I deceided to try to lose weight before the surgery,  I really feel at least mentally I will be more prepared.

I booked time off work but they don't know exactly what I am getting done, I will fill them in on the details when I get back. I booked 2 weeks off so hopefully thats enought to cover recovery.

I told my best friend and my step son and they were both supportive so that was a relief. I was going to tell my family but my sister's child is going in for surgery today and I didn't want to add to the worries. I will tell them by the end of the month for sure.

Starting the new year right

Jan 02, 2009

Today I joined Weight Watchers and  my first meeting is on Thursday Jan. 8th. I decided to join as a way to get prepared for surgery. One of my fears is the withdrawl symptoms I might have expereniced right after surgery so I thought if I started to eat right 10 weeks before surgery then I wouldn't feel so bad right after. This may be wishfull thinking but to me it makes sense.

My next plan is to get all my research together, review with my physican and surgeon the requirements of me before surgery. Once I have that done then the next big step will be discussing my surgery and life changing plans with my family and friends. I'm expecting a lot of questions as I am sure people will be curious and concerned at the same time so if I get all my info ready then they ( and I ) wont feel so worried.

After that then I need to talk to my employer. I'm not expecting to much resistence but I am hoping they will let me use banked sick days for my recovery time after surgery.

Getting Started

Nov 26, 2008

Hello all who are reading this very intersting blog! lol

I signed up some time ago but now I'm ready to get geared up for my life changing surgery. I'm a little worried about the time right after surgery and what I can eat and what I can't. I'm going to do some more research but I would really appricate anyones feed back. My doctor is in Medicine Hat which is 8 hours away so I need to find some support closer to home.
