I am a 29 year old mother of 3 (I recently adopted my niece on November 17, 2007). I have been battleing my weight since giving birth to my first son in February 1994 at age 15. I went from weighing 170lbs to 260lbs at the end of my pregnancy. Within 1 month after giving birth, I went down to 230 lbs and maintained that weight for about 3 years.

Once I stopped walking everywhere I need to go until I got my first car in January 1997, excersizing was not an option. Instead of eating and walking to the bus stop, I started eating and jumping in the car and walking was out of my evryday routine. The lbs started packing on. Once I started juggling school, work and taking care of my son, I always would eat on the run during the week and that contributed tremendously to my rapid weight gain. I was never a junkfood eater but I love my pasta and breads, my absolute "WEAKNESS".

Now during the pregnancy of my daughter born August 2004, I gained 33lbs which was perfect but I could not get that weight off for nothing. During the times before my second pregnancy er, I tried numerous weight loss options, Stackers (lost 18lbs), LA Weight Loss (lost 25lbs) and Weight Watchers (lost 20lbs), Atkins (lost 15). Now since giving birth to my daughter, I have tried the Stackers again and lost about 10lbs, gained it right back and Weight Watchers and I was losing very very slowly. I got pretty much frustrated with that so lately I have just but eating a lot more healthier and the foods that use to be part of my everyday intake are not more of a treat to myself. It works but again, my weight hasn't managed to go down as much as it could be.

After 2 years I decided I wanted to get the lap bang surgery. With all the research that I did and speaking to people, I liked what the lap-band surgery offered for me and my lifestyle. It gave me more control over how much weight I would lose as oppose to the gastric bypass surgery which you continue to lose without trying. I wanted to be able to work out and eat better and just not lose as quickly but definitely "Lose" at a little slower past so I can have more control of myself and my health. I am so looking forward to having this surgery and cannot wait to see the new "ME".
