Wow, what a journey, I feel like a new person! It is so amazing how good I feel and the change it has made in my life. Hubby says there is a new woman living in our house and I have to agree. I not only feel better health wise but even my overall outlook on life is so much improved and a much happier person.
I am so thankful that I made the decision to have WLS. This was the best decision I could have made and no regrets. When my journey began at my highest weight I was 294 lbs. The day of surgery I weighed in at the hospital at 260. Today I am at 193. How amazing! There is still a ways to go but I know it is doable.
From a 24 jacket to a 14 and a 22 pants to 14 and depending on the cut a 12. Never even when I was younger would I have been able to wear this size at the weight I am. I can't figure that out other than perhaps they are making sizes larger now? Or they say muscle weighs more than fat.
My favorite exercise is the elliptical machine. When I first started out 15 mins was all I could do, taking a break for water every 5 minutes. Now I do an hour or more and can go 30-40 minutes without a water break. When I get that hour in I know I have pushed myself to my limit but it feels good!
I am off the meds for sugar, also the blood pressure meds and cholesterol. So other than the daily vitamins and other supplements no meds anymore. That is just wonderful to me as well. It is so great to feel GOOD again!
The people on this site are so amazing and supportive, it is good to know that you have friends that you have never met that understand and perhaps have experienced the same things you are. I encourage new folks to take advantage of the experience of these other folks and if you have the right mindset this will be the best experience of your life as well as the greatest gift you can ever give yourself!
There certainly are more goals to achieve before this journey has reached it's destination but I know in my heart that if you set your mind to it it can be done.
