It has been a fantastic year! Many changes...a total of 205 pounds now and I'm feeling better every day!!
Except for cedar fever which happens here in South Texas when the cedar pollen is high...

Holidays are coming...

As the holidays approach I am wondering how I will do this holiday season. I know I am armed with more resolve and physically am going to be unable to overeat therefore I feel it is going to be good.
I have now lost 188 pounds total since I began my journey towards a healthier me on July 20, 2008...130 pounds of that is since my surgery on March 6, 2009.

Slow but sure progress...

Slow but sure progress...losing inches when not pounds. Am at a plateau with weight having lost between 173-181 pounds...sigh! Trying to keep from getting frustrated

I've been fluctuating between 163 and 173 pounds lost...grrr! I guess it is normal to feel a little frustrated

As of this morning, one year and 4 days after I began my journey, I have lost 163 pounds! YEA! 
I feel so good and know there is only more good to come in the future! Thanks to all for your support!!

155 Pounds lost...

I've lost a total of 155 pounds since July 20, 2008 when I began my journey...my surgery was March 6, 2009 and I'd lost 78 pounds prior to the surgery so I'm doing well 
I feel great & feel healthier all the time. I am not throwing up as often and that's a huge plus! Someone asked me if I'd do the surgery again and without hesitation I said yes I would! I'm so glad I did this! I saw my surgeon this week and he was pleased with my progress!

Almost 3 months...

at the almost 3 months post-surgery mark, I am happily 123 pounds lighter than I was in July 2008 when I began my journey!
I'm finally able to eat more of a variety of foods and having less problems with throwing up...thank goodness!

2 Months post-op...

I'm now 2 months post-op and have lost 38 pounds since surgery and a grand total of 116 pounds since I began this journey in July 2008! I am feeling better...most of the time anyway 
Except when I eat something that doesn't agree with me. I have found that chicken does not agree with me recently so I'm leaving it alone for awhile. And leftovers are another thing that just doesn't like my tummy...as one of my dear friends says - you have a snobby tummy LOL!

Tired of being sick...

I'm tired of being sick...so many foods are not agreeing with me and I know I need to have patience as I am only almost 7 weeks post-op. I don't want to go backwards but I think I'm going to have to go back to drinking protein drinks as a way to get more protein in daily. If I don't stop throwing up by the end of this upcoming weekend, I'm going to call my surgeon and see if there might be a stricture or if he thinks I've been pushing things too fast with food.
Any comments and/or suggestions are most welcome!

6 Weeks post op...

Six weeks ago today I had my laparoscopic gastric bypass...I went for my 6 week check up yesterday and have lost 30 lbs since surgery and 108 lbs since I began this journey in July 2008!
It's been a stressful week...my older brother had a stroke last Thursday and is now recovering in a rehab hospital. Luckily he's doing better and it appears there isn't permanent paralysis. One of my best friend's mother-in-law is not doing well and may be losing her fight with colon cancer.
I'm still experiencing throwing up occasionally. My surgeon said there is no ryhme or reason for it and everyone has different things that effect them from time to time. *Sigh* Would I do it all over again if I knew that before? Yes I would! I feel better and know I'm on the right journey!
